Productive work place withe cable tv, internet and lots of good food
food service worker (Current Employee), Fort Bragg, NC – May 8, 2013
Pros: testing all the food products before it goes on the serving lines
Cons: short to no breaks and long hours in a stressfull enviorment
A typical work day is getting up early 0400 hours opening the kitchen doors for the workers. Turning on all needed equeptment, ovens steam tables and serving lines. Preping and cooking breakfest, lunch, and dinner.cleaning all equiptment used locking up all doors to building Some of what i have learned is the people who want to be there really show – more... actions of wanting to be there. My bosses like to use on the spot correction for learning perpesses. I have shared and learned alot from my co-workers the hardest part of the job is the long hours. I enjoy feeding people making everyone happy – less

A productive work place characterised by teaching and marking
Guidance and Counselling Lecturer (Former Employee), Francistown – January 27, 2013
Pros: job is secured
Cons: low salary as compared to other organisations
I have not learnt much of management at this work place.
I have learnt to deal with student personal issues espeially those who are orphaned. A day at work is characterised by teaching, attending to students, supervising projects as well as marking of student assignments and seting and marking tests and examinations.
The most enjoyable part of the work – more... is when students go on Teaching Practice. – less

I am a born caregiver, I live to help others in whatever capacity I can, working for the government facilitated that desire to assist those in need.
Eligibility Worker III (Former Employee), Sonora, CA – June 16, 2012
Pros: the chance to make a differnece
Cons: the heartbreaking stories of the clients and their situations
I worked for the government for most of my adult life. People don't just become social workers, they are born social workers, at least the good ones are. If it is in your character to endure the frustrations of the system and the inability of your clients to function, then social work is the life for you. There is nothing like the feeling you get personally – more... from helping someone become a better person. – less

laborer for over 20 years (Current Employee), Brecksville, OH – May 22, 2012
Pros: benefits, pay, vacation
Cons: managment, politics, lack of man power.
honestly a typical day at work is guessing what dumb idea management will come up with next instead of consoling a worker who has way more experience. I work with a great group of guys but the politics always get in the way. The best part of my job is the guys I work with that's for sure.

Enjoyed communicating with Maximus longer term clients, in regards to assisting the location with I9,WOTC and E-Verify questions.
HR Assistant/Customer Service (Current Employee), Columbia, MD – April 23, 2012
Pros: creating a relationship with cliens, and staff
Cons: there is no growth with the present employer
My work day consist of, reviewing voicemails, handle outgoing and incoming calls in reference to WOTC (Work Opportunity Tax Credit), and E-Verify questions. As well as verifing I9's for citizenship and work status. In addition to being responible of all of the I9/WOTC incoming and outgoing emails.

I have learned the Maximus TCES (Tax Credit and Employement – more... Service) system, various citizenship statuses one can obtain. How to spot errors regarding the correct format, in which the I9 should be read for completion. Also the relationship between E-Verify system and DOJ (Dept of Justice), DOH (Dept of Homeland), as well as USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Service). In addition, assisting HR Managers in what types of documenation is acceptable, when completeing an I9. Also adving the HR Manager in correcting or revising documentation to cut over-head cost.

The Management staff at Maximus, are helpful in reference to area's were additional training was needed. Also I found it very comforting to ask questions when assistance was asked regarding various issues.

The relationship I have with my co-workers is open. We are helpful to one another regardless of the task. And are able to give and receive advise where needed.

The hardest part of the job is being unable to have growth with Maximus.

The most enjoyable part of my job is creating relationship with the Maximus clients. As well as giving the client stability in the service we provide. – less
