Job Description: We are seeking a Sr. User Experience Designer who is passionate about designing beautiful, yet simple and intuitive user interfaces that span across the web.

The Sr. User Experience Designer will meet with all types of users to understand their different, usage patterns, priorities, and requirements. They will use this information to revise and incorporate new capabilities into our existing interface, and help design brand new interaction experiences. The ability to design for mobile and social collaboration is a plus.

The Sr. User Experience Designer is a highly visible role who will be hands-on in designing My Client & Company, a customer facing portal to manage users evaluations, downloads, licenses and support requests, among other administration functions. They will conduct first level research and interviews, and produce user-centered design deliverables such as process flows, wireframes, user interactions, visual mockups, and prototypes.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, manage and improve the interaction design process across web and mobile devices
  • Plan and conduct user requirements gathering and analysis, competitive research, conceptual modeling and usability testing, including an audit of the current portals
  • Design and specify user interfaces and information architecture using participatory and iterative design techniques including stakeholder interviews, usability testing, and other forms of requirements discovery
  • Produce user stories, personas, storyboards, scenarios, prototypes, and interaction design specifications for use in an Agile/Scrum development environment
  • Effectively communicate research findings, conceptual ideas and detailed design rationale both verbally and visually
  • Participate as a contributor to an interdisciplinary team that includes marketing, product management, and engineering
  • Contribute to the definition scope and phasing of project timelines through an Agile/Scrum delivery process

Required Skills:

  • Highly innovative and able to design a user interface that simplifies the users experience
  • An eye for creating simple, easy-to-use interfaces for web sites with a rich and complex set of features
  • Able to design for both enterprise and mass market adoption
  • Strong knowledge of interaction design processes and methodology, particularly as applied to web/mobile/social products
  • Ability to understand customer needs, motivations and behaviors and translate them into actionable deliverables
  • Detail-oriented and highly developed organizational skills including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong self-management skills and the ability to work as a contributing member of a multi-disciplinary team
  • An ardent belief that better work is done through collaboration and iteration
  • A belief in the importance of prototyping, an ability to lead and deliver prototypes at various levels of fidelity
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
  • BS/BA in Design or related degree preferred

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar role
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in design, human computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience
  • Expert understanding of methods for designing easy to use interfaces in a variety of web-based and mobile formats including social applications
  • Experience with design and prototyping tools such as Visio, Balsamiq, Flash/Flex, HTML/CSS/JavaScript, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experience creating great user-centered design solutions is a requirement for application
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with both B2B and high-volume B2C on web and mobile devices
  • Experience designing for social applications that enable and encourage user referrals and collaboration
