Amazing company!
Recruiter (Current Employee) –  SydneyMay 17, 2017
I am honestly shocked to read some of the negative comments about GQR. Having been here for the last few months, I have found it to be a very positive working environment.

This being the 3rd recruitment company I've worked in and I can tell you that long hours, high targets and extreme pressure is just part of the industry, but being part of GQR means you reap amazing benefits for succeeding in the above. They have quarterly holidays, weekly incentives, an insane pay structure and crazy career growth.

If you want to be surrounded by the best, working with the most competitive compensation and push yourself to the extreme in your career then you'll love GQR - if you want to relax, sail by and remain average, than it's not for you.

Electrical Apprentice (Current Employee) –  Livermore, CAFebruary 1, 2017
They were on point with the jobs. They called after the job sites to make sure that everything went well and made sure that I enjoyed everything and if I needed anything.

Difficult
Intern (Former Employee) –  New York, NYOctober 13, 2016
Very difficult job to attain. Very difficult job to maintain and organize in terms of work/life balance. Those who have a soldier mentality will be extremely successful here.

You'll work hard, surrounded by excellent coworkers
Associate, Global Recruitment Consultant (Former Employee) –  Los Angeles, CAAugust 24, 2016
The hours are long, and the work is hard, but this is a great place to challenge yourself like you've never been challenged before. Working here will teach you a lot about yourself as a person and as a professional. The coworkers are all very intelligent and it's almost overwhelming how excellent these people are at an extremely difficult job.

Very rewarding, you get out what you put in!
GQR Global Markets (Current Employee) –  Senior Associate - LAJanuary 7, 2016
Money is unreal if you can perform. Highest commissions I have seen in the business for people starting off in recruitment. The commission schedule is what experienced recruiters with 5-10 years of experience at a generous firm can expect. This schedule does not exist elsewhere for recent college graduates.
The best part of the job is making placements and seeing the commissions hit your bank account!
It is a steep learning curve and you need to be smart to cut it here, it is not just about smashing the phones, you need intelligence. These searches are very strategic and the reality is, to make it here and see success you need to be articulate, strategic, motivated, and of course ready to work very hard.
Pros
Incentives, commission scheme, opportunity to work in other offices globally.
Cons
You need to be prepared to work hard and can be stressful at times.

Tremendous opportunity to make money, if you want to work a minimum of 60 hours a week, and don't mind hearing no frequently. It's a sink-or-swim culture, where it's highly competitive. You are no doubt rewarded for your success, but also disciplined for your shortcomings. They have a rather informal training program, but it suffices for the type of work in-store. They have you do 1 hour of personal development each day, but it's related to whatever field you are recruiting in. I didn't personally like the culture, as each Thursday at the NYC office, it was almost mandatory to go out and drink. While it's okay to go out and enjoy some spirits, most often with them, it's done in excess. The one plus side, is the CEO takes care of the bill. Overall, nice people if you do your job, and listen. A great opportunity to make a lot of money, at the cost of spending a lot of time in the office, for the first year, at least. You rarely leave before 8pm to 9pm and work begins at 8am.
Pros
True Meritocratic Environment
Cons
Terrible work:life balance
