I would give greatcall - 5 stars
CSR II (Former Employee) –  Reno, NVMay 30, 2017
Greatcall is a horrible place to work. The management is awful, they do not work with anyone there. They give horrible schedules to people that have families. They force you to have split days off and feel that no one is an asset. They can just replace you. I was very dependable always came to work, always had high numbers. There is no way to move up in the company unless you are liked by all management. This company is horrible and they get you with the $15 an hr but no money is worth the stress and depression you WILL receive with this company over time.

Great company! But the call center type job is not for everyone.
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) –  Carlsbad, CA 92008May 20, 2017
The company is great and the people are so kind and welcoming. I loved the company but disliked the job itself. The call center environment is not for everyone.

Dishonorable business practices and immoral employees
Customer Service Associate (Former Employee) –  Carlsbad, CAMay 6, 2017
Great call is a terrible company, to work for or as a customer. They take advantage of the elderly and put heavy pressure on the employees to sell, sell, sell. Even in departments such as customer service, you are REQUIRED to try and sell the caller something, on every call. The employees themselves are horrible, immoral people. Most of them are lesbians with a chip on there shoulder, who have inner office relationships with one another. Its actually very despicable. Dont work for this company, if they are even still in business when you read this.
Pros
lots of hooks ups, if your a lesbian
Cons
Everything

Hard Work, Decent pay
Customer Advisor (Current Employee) –  Carlsbad, CAMay 5, 2017
Overall, I like GreatCall. It is a fast paced and challenging job. There are many difficulties, but the management is very supportive and willing to work with the agents. The benefits are good, and by participating in the health program, you get money off your overall cost each year.
Depending on the season, the day can be back to back calls, or a bit more relaxed. The overall dress code is not very strict, but you can tell who is trying to be better just by appearance.
The most challenging thing is during promotions, the call volume goes way up and sometimes you only get ten seconds at the end of the call before the next one comes in.
I would work here again in the future if the chance came.
Pros
Fitness classes, refresher trainings
Cons
High call volume, Stressful, Moderate employee turnover rate.

assist the elderly with mobiles and safety devices . over all the pay is good but no one really knows whats going on and how to fix the problems. There is too much uncertainty and blaming between departments and the tools and products not working , And don't get on managements bad side

Micro-Managed and Stressful
Client Support Specialist (Former Employee) –  Carlsbad, CAApril 4, 2017
Though the pay is good, it does not compensate for the daily stress. Very high turn around, and you are micro-managed to the point of being scripted on each call. There is no moral and it greatly shows in the daily environment. You are consistently pressured to sell elderly on product that does not work, while being told that they can afford to spend their money on the garbage.

Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) –  Reno, NVNovember 4, 2016
This was the worst company I have ever worked for. Employees are treated like garbage. They fire people people easily, illegally because Nevada is a right to work state, The management is hostile and they will make up reasons to fire you if you complain. The products are broken pieces of junk and there is no way to keep customers because the stuff doesn't work and you are not allowed to transfer to technical support. They can't keep enough agents on the phone because everyone leaves. The pay may be good, the benefits may be good but the stress is just not worth it

5Star Dispatcher (Current Employee) –  Carlsbad, CAJuly 13, 2016
Relatively new company doing its best to keep growing, and becoming a major player in the health/communication market. Like many other companies it is having growing pains, at times it overlooks its employees. Every department is ran differently, and there appears to be high turnover in certain departments, more focus needs to be placed in the hiring process of future employees if the company is to continue being successful.

No uniform code

GreatCall is a good company helping improve the lives of aging Americans. This is a demographic overlooked per daily technological advancements, but GreatCall does an excellent job of providing care of the customers.

Customer Service Representative II (Former Employee) –  Reno, NVJune 25, 2016
There are several extrememly bad supervisors and managers in reno customer service. There's no ability to get help from HR if you make a complaint on how you're being treated and ask for help. Instead, they open up an investigation on you until they find something they can use to get you to shut up or you'll be fired.

Nice place to work when the ac is working and its not crazy hot
Direct Sales Representative (Former Employee) –  Reno, NVJune 10, 2016
I worked for Greatcall in direct sales it was not easy because they want you to push their products like they're the best and up to date but there smartphones run on old operating systems and their big claim to fame is the 5star service which is just like 911 and after you pump up how great it is and how its going to save the`users life then at the end of the call you have to read a disclaimer that it's not a substitute for 911 and if a real emergency happens to call 911. There prices are expensive and there service plans cannot compete with most prepaid services.
Management was cool and I did have fun there you get to talk to a lot of older people and here about there lives and learn about the way things use to be. I would recommend them as employers the pay is good and the management is pretty cool.
Pros
good pay nice break rooms friendly managment
Cons
everything you do is monitored, and recorded they listen to every call thats made, and you have to meet their conversion or your out/fired

5 Star Urgent response (Former Employee) –  Reno, NevadaMay 19, 2016
Very simple...do not ever get ill because IT IS subject to termination. My co workers were great , team that worked well together and had each others back, I think terminating someone for having Pneumonia because of the "come in or be fired" policy was very very awful corporate mentality to have towards its employees.
Pros
none
Cons
no compassion for their employees.

Office Manager (Current Employee) –  Reno, NVMay 18, 2016
This place is very well balanced. The culture is supportive and very friendly. It's not a typical call center where you're just another number. They work with you and you know where you stand.

Inside Sales (Former Employee) –  Carlsbad, CAApril 5, 2016
Never enjoyed working there. Took calls from seniors and we had to press them to buy our phone no matter what they said. We were graded on our calls and constantly threatened to be fired if we didn't follow their way.

Great job!!
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) –  Carlsbad, CADecember 21, 2015
I loved this job! you get more than enough training and you always have help after that. my supervisor was so helpful and very sweet. the pay is good enough. you talk to the elderly most of the day to assist them with working with their Jitterbug devices. Can be challenging. You get the rude customers of course but the sweet ones make up for it so much.
Pros
paid training
Cons
rude customers

Don't make a mistake
Direct sales rep. (Former Employee) –  Carlsbad, CANovember 18, 2015
They pressure to do good and make sales. Compensation is okay but if you make a mistake they don't give you a second chance.. They fire you! Everything you say is monitored and scored. Emails, ims, phone calls are all monitored. Management parties with employees outside of work and they play favortism.
This is not just a bashing review, I loved the company during my time as a temp but once I got hired on, things change. If you don't perform well they fire you! They micromange you. They make you feel like they support you but they don't once something goes wrong. People are just there for the money & some people like myself was there for the long haul but they could not see that.
If you do get hired, focus on you, do your job and dont make mistakes or your gone!

The money seems too good to be true! Idk about this company! Its brand new only 7years so idk!
Pros
Good money
Cons
Micromanged, no support, sketchy
