•Obtain, compile, prepare & maintain records • Observe cardiac rhythm of patients on monitor • Initiate code blues
•Run & post rhythm stripes at designated intervals • Interpret rhythms & validate computer readout
•Check & verify lead placement on patients • Compare posted strip to previous strip & notify nursing staff of changes •Notify nursing staff of any change in cardiac rhythm • Assume other activities & responsibilities from time to time as directed •Recognize & respond to unusual or abnormal patient condition • Ensure that equipment is in good working condition •Equipment & Instruments: Clean equipment after each patient use • Report equipment problems to supervisor
•Equipment includes cardiac (ECG) monitor, telemetry transmitter, central monitor bank, & Arrhythmia analysis/printer
•Test equipment for proper working order •Maintain work area clean & orderly • Place patient identification sticker on monitor
