It has great benefits and pay, but the time worked was a little overbearing.
Collections Specialist (Current Employee), Birmingham, ALJune 12, 2014
Pros: great benefits
Cons: continuously altering work hours.
The company has great benefits, as well as starting pay, but the hours of work demanded each week were not for my taste. It improved my communications techniques immensely, and the management were all exemplary figures, and the environment of coworkers was grand as well.

CUSTOMER SERVICE (Former Employee), Rapid City, SDMay 16, 2014
The stress of being on a time table and under the gun for daily numbers was just unreal. The management formed "teams" that played against each other instead of wanting everyone to work together as a group.

Customer Service (Current Employee), Fort Worth, TXApril 15, 2014
Pros: it's a job
Cons: everything else
I took this job not knowing what to expect. It's Micro-managed, reps are not appreciated and the atmosphere is very negative and unprofessional. People use profanity on the call center floor, even supervisors. They focus more on how many calls you can take vs. good customer service. Training just crams info into you in less than 2 weeks then you are – more... thrown onto the phones to take calls, sink or swim. I do not like working here but can't afford not to. – less

Horrible if you don't like spending 12-15 hrs a day behind a desk or steering wheel.
Reo Field Representative (Former Employee), Hattiesburg, MsNovember 20, 2013
Pros: pay
Cons: long days, not much time for family or personal life, nasty attitude from all management
Micro management with lack of assistance. Pushed to sell a certain percentage of inventory that is not likely to happen in today's economy. Encouraged to lie about or cover up some of the fine print in the sales contract. Forced to work 70-80 hrs a week Monday thru Saturday. Do not pay contractors reasonable amount for repairs and maintenance on properties. – more... Horrible attitude from upper management. Must spend your own money for advertisement and have to wait up to two months two be reimbursed. Average of 5,000 miles per month in personal vehicle. – less

High Energy and High Expectations
Mortgage Collections Representative (Former Employee), Mendota Heights, MNAugust 16, 2013
Pros: good benefits and nice people
Cons: overworked employees, micro-management.
A rapidly paced environment servicing both mobile and land home loans. Very structured office setting with astringent expectations of both volume and individual goals. A typical day at work consists of outbound calling to make contact with delinquent loan holders to secure payment of past due debts. Work is done to modify loans as well as work out repayment – more... plans to bring accounts to a current status. Some foreclosure and legal steps are also necessary for those unwilling or unable to work out suitable arrangements. The employees are a joy to work with but the office has also built up an almost too-rapid pace to be able to enjoy any portion of that. The company is hard core on timeliness and speed with little forgiveness for either. – less

Just Started Here.
Mortgage Collector (Current Employee), Irving, TXAugust 7, 2013
Pros: pay, benefits.
Cons: i hate to say this..but everything else besides the pay and benefits.
So This is my last week in Training for Collections Position. Since day one everyone who works here has told me this is a bad place to work. The Negativity is horrible here. Also I was told in my interview that we will only work 2 late days 7am-8pm, and when I started Training they told is its actually 4 days that we will work 7am-8pm. Even The managers – more... will tell you that There is a High turn over Rate at this company. From what I was told this company does not follow FDCPA guidelines, all they want is the customers payments and not help them. I come from a major bank, and to know all the things GreenTree does makes me feel Uncomfortable. We also listened to a few calls in Training and they were horrible the Employee's were talking over customers. I am not looking forward to getting on the Floor. I have Been looking for another Job. This is not a place I want to be. My Advice will be Stay Away from this Place!!! Look at other Mortgage Companies. – less
