About Greenbrier Valley Medical Center
Greenbrier Valley Medical Center has a rich history in the scenic Greenbrier Valley. Since 1938, the hospital has played an indispensable role in the region's development. A replacement facility was built on the current campus in 1974. Triad Hospitals acquired the hospital in 2000, and from 2001 through 2005, the facility was rebuilt and expanded from – more... a 30 year old 100,000 square feet facility into a modern, state-of-the-art 135,000 square feet facility. GVMC's inpatient services have been improved with a new ICU, new patient rooms, and renovated OB unit. The outpatient services have also been improved with a new ambulatory surgery facility and expansion of the Imaging and Emergency Room facilities. Greenbrier Valley Medical Center serves as a teaching facility for the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine and hosts a Family Practice residency program.
