We are looking for an Assistant Restaurant manager for our new Natural/Organic restaurant in Jersey City.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 2 years fast food restaurant management experience
  • Candidates with Subway, or Chipotle strongly preferred
  • Excellent verbal, and written communication skills
  • Very strong customer service skills.
  • Must be friendly (i.e. if you cannot wear a smile all the time, please do not apply)
  • Excellent management and leadership skills
  • Good career stability and excellent references
  • Good knowledge of POS Systems,
  • Must have great organization skills
  • Must have eye for details.
  • Must be a self starter with a "run it like you own it mentality"
  • "Hands-on" leadership style
  • College degree or equivalent experience in operations
  • Management/Supervisory/Mentor experience desired
  • Willing to assume around-the-clock responsibility for restaurant operations
  • Willing to work normal schedule of 50+ hours per week (all shifts)
  • Exhibit a sense of urgency
  • Serve Safe Certified

Hours of operations are from 11am to 9pm, 6 days a week

Day to Day:

  • Manage all aspects of the front of the house
  • Estimate food consumption, advise kitchen when low
  • Resolve customer complaints about food quality or service.
  • Estimate food consumption, advise kitchen, and schedule delivery of fresh food and beverages.

  • Direct cleaning of kitchen and dining areas to maintain sanitation standards, and keep appropriate records.
  • Monitor actions of staff and customers to ensure that health and safety standards and liquor regulations are obeyed.
  • Arrange for maintenance and repair of equipment and other services.
  • Schedule work hours for staff.
  • Judge the quality of food, preparation, and job applicants.
  • Recruit, hire, and oversee training for staff.
  • Maintain relationships with customers and staff.
  • Organize, plan, and prioritize.
  • Ability to lead a campaign to "get the word out" to nearby business/offices/buildings.

Longer term:

  • Maintain budget and employee records, prepare payroll, and pay bills, or monitor bookkeeping records.
  • May use computer software to monitor inventory, track staff schedules and pay, and perform other record keeping tasks.
  • Meet with sales representatives to order supplies such as tableware, cooking utensils, and cleaning items.
  • Total receipts and balance against sales, deposit receipts, and lock facility at end of day.
  • Select or create successful menu items based on many considerations, and assign prices based on cost analysis.
  • Monitor food preparation and methods.
  • Ability to handle catering orders
