GreenWood Resources is seeking Forestry Financial Analyst to add to our team in Portland, Oregon.

The Forestry Financial Analyst is responsible for performing financial analysis and investment documentation for existing and prospective forestry investments in Europe and South America managed by GWR. Initially, this work will focus on the evaluation and acquisition of properties identified by GWR Chile and GWR Poland personnel, by lease or purchase, to support GWR’s projects in these countries. Tasks may eventually include support of acquisition activities in other geographies.
-Use Excel® spreadsheet to conduct financial modeling and analysis for acquisition-related activities
-Assemble field data and other information from regional staff and elsewhere to support project analysis and decision making
-Write investment memoranda
-Assist with presentations to GWR Investment Committees
-Conduct additional relevant analysis (e.g. market, price, cost) as needed
The successful candidate will have the following combination of education, skills and experience:
-Bachelor’s degree in forestry management, real estate, or agriculture with strong performance in quantitative courses
-Minimum, two years of related work experience
-Post-graduate degree in Forest Management or Forest Economics desirable
-Demonstrated understanding of economic/financial analysis of real estate assets such as timberland and agricultural land
-Good English oral communications and technical report writing skills
-Ability to effectively interact with all levels of employees, contractors and owners
-Second language skills in Spanish, Polish, Romanian or Portuguese desirable
