Good Commissions!
Customer Service Sales Representative (Former Employee), Melbourne, FL –
Pros: fun at work.
Cons: strict adherence to scripts.
You have to really know how to sell, if you know how to do that, your pay will be good. Good Commissions.

Fast paced employment with a chance to learn new skills
Needs Clerk (Former Employee), Portland, TN –
Pros: fast paced, open door policy, supportive management.
Cons: plant closed
Started working for this company as a Temporary employee through a local staffing agency. I worked off and on per staffing agency rules until I was hired on with the company in 2007. This company was a fast paced pick/pack warehouse with internet/catalog based customers. My job included fulfilling orders where the merchandise was not on the shelf for – more...  the picker to fulfill. I worked with equipment operators and shipping clerks to ensure the order was sent by the timeline that was given to the customer. This job required me to work with a diverse group of individuals with the same goal to be achieved. Management was approachable and supportive, and truly cared and knew who worked for them and with them. – less

Cons: job security
Best job I have had in a long time, easy to learn how to do the job, somewhat confusing training methods/instructors however.

Great Pay, Yet Terrible Organization
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee), Brunswick, GA –
Pros: great pay, scheduled breaks, fairly simple work
Cons: poor management, no benefits(unless ft)
After working for GSI for 5 months and moving up from working in the office to working from home; I can say that the company overall is a great company to get onto when the seasonal positions open up. The training classes generally last 2 weeks and teach you just about everything you need to know to succeed in general, but there is a lot more information – more...  that should be given. The management is ok, but a lot of the managers in the same vertical don't know who each other are and when you need a question answered it seems that the managers are not at their desks. – less

For seasonal work, quite a ride
Seasonal Customer Service Representative (Former Employee), Eau Claire, WI –
Pros: down-to-earth management, free coffee, healthy environment
Cons: strict timetables, tight-lipped about possible full-time openings
As a seasonal CS Rep, I have to admit, if I were still in the Eau Claire area, I'd apply again this coming peak season. The atmosphere is relatively relaxed, the break room is nice (with a temperamental coffee machine, granted), and my supervisors were the most flexible people I've ever had the pleasure to work with.

Customer Service in E-Commerce (Former Employee), Melbourne, FL –
Worked at my pace as far as learning required information. Learned how to take control of situations instead of contacting supervisor unnecessarily. Hardest part was getting reviews and hearing that I could improve.

Run. Run as fast as you can.
Call Center Agent (Former Employee), Eau Claire, WI –
Pros: free food on certain occasions
Cons: inequitable pay scale, training insufficient to prepare agents, executives cannot be trusted and lie about you
I don't know if it is the company or just the industry, but I found the call agent position to be suffocating. Inability to leave your desk for any reason unless going to lunch or leaving for the day. Being constantly measured on how long I took to make a sale with faulty, glitchy software slowing me down was frustrating. Again, it may just be me but – more...  I would avoid working in a call center at all costs in the future. – less

I don't like the job, but I won't quit because I need to work.
Inbound Associate (Current Employee), Walton, Ky. –
Pros: pool table in breakroom, walmart gift card rewards during peak season.
Cons: travel time, frequently get sent home early
GSI is a fast paced internet order fulfillment center. Sometimes you are required to work 7 days a week, 10 hours a day. Other times they send you home early. It depends on the work pool (how many orders they have). Everyone must meet their quotas, which are do-able, but sometimes hard to meet.
