retail banking with a focus on new accounts
Personal Banker (Former Employee), Kenosha, WI – April 30, 2013
Pros: good hours, good benefits
Cons: can be difficult to move up
typical day includes running transactions for customers, balancing a vault, opening new accounts and dealing with customer financial issues

learned all about the philosophy of professionalism

Management and co-workers vary depending on your personality type and theirs.
Hardest part would be reaching sales goals when morale is low.
Most enjoyable part – more... would be receiving incentive payouts for hitting sales goals. – less

Ablilty to learn something new each day.
Supervisor/Personal Banker (Former Employee), Saukville, WI – February 20, 2013
Pros: flexible hours, advancement within company, reasonable pay
Cons: work weekends, supervisor wasn't supportive or willing to advance anyone.
A typical day was interacting, entering clients banking info, opening new accounts, and selling new products.
I learned how to use a computer and enter proper information and problem solve customers banking issues. Upper management was ok, but immmediate on-site supervisor wasn't as helpful or accomadating to help you further yourself in the company. – more... My co-workers were wonderful and helpful. The hardest part was accepting that my supervisor wouldn't advance anyone unless you were her pet. I enjoyed interacting with customers, being helpful and knowledgeable on products that I need to sell. – less

Family owned company with a great product.
Assistant Branch Manager (Current Employee), Campbellsport, WI – January 22, 2013
Pros: relaxed work environment
Cons: heavy focus on sales
A typical day involves running basic banking transactions while trying to sell additional products and service that may better meet the needs of your customers. Much of the day is spent trying to generate new customer relationships.

not worth the stress
Personal Banker (Current Employee), Sturtevant, WI – November 5, 2012
Pros: start late-opens at 10am, get paid incentives monthly
Cons: unqualified management, super strict sales, stressful, aisle time, too much paperwork daily
Easy advancement because people are always quitting. Because of this, management is not very qualified. Company is solely about sales and not enough about customer service. Coming from a credit union I thought the pay was good but soon realized the amount of stress is not even worth it.

hard sales goals but great people oriented job
Assistant Branch Manager (Former Employee), Sheboygan, WI – October 5, 2012
Our day would begin by balancing ATM machine and getting our drawers ready for helping our customers. As customers come in we would handle their tranactions. If a customer has a problem with their accounts or debit cards would help them. It was also important for us to talk to other people that weren't our customers. We would tell them the benefits – more... of opening an account with us. We would then open accounts for them. This included explaining to them all the features of our account such as online banking, debit cards etc..At the end of day we would balance our drawers and use scanner to send paper work for our daily transactions to processing centers. Then we would have to count the money in our vault to make sure all the cash in bank branch balances after our day is complete.
I enjoyed working with our customers and I know they trusted me with their problems because when I was not at work they would inquire about me. I always got along with my co-works. I love people and workings with them and for them. The hardest part of the job was selling new accounts. The most enjoyable part was feeling good every time I was able to help a customer solve a problem and getting to know so many wonderful people. – less

Claims Representative (Current Employee), Milwaukee, WI – October 1, 2012
Pros: pto accumulation
Cons: bayshore location is congested
A typical work day is face paced and driven. I have learned more about the bridge of gap between risk management and customer service. The co-workers are closely knit with compliments of deep core values and dedication to the company. The hardest part of the job is the flexibility to determine value added and non value added service for a customer as – more... it comes to loss prevention and claims. The enjoyable part of the job is meeting customer satisfaction while putting the pieces to the puzzle of a claim. – less

Nice incentives impossible goals..unprofessional upper management
Branch Manager (Former Employee), Chicago, IL – September 17, 2012
Pros: decent pay, good incentive
Cons: management unprofessional no job security in the il south
It doesnt take much experience or talent to work at Guaranty Bank. If you are trying to get into the banking industry this is a good first start. Upper management is unprofessional and plays the favoritism game. If you arent on their good side they will find a way to fire you. Hitting the sales goals can be stressful and impossible especially considering – more... that the company changes policie, Prices and fees every two months. Their is no room for advancement instead of hiring within they will hire someone less qualified from the outside and expect you to train them to be your boss. Everone does things their own way so you never know if what you are doing is right. Completely unorganized company. – less

They are out of business now.
Customer Service Manager (Former Employee), Arlington, TX – September 14, 2012
Pros: great college work place
Cons: pay
It was a good place to start working in college. As I tried to advance, I felt that I was overlooked due to my age. They are out of business now so it doesn't matter anyway.

Senior Teller (Former Employee), Livingston, Texas – September 13, 2012
Pros: good pay
Cons: no managment suport
I would start my day by balancing my teal and getting any change I might need for the day. I balanced the safe on a daily basis. I also did many daily audits as the senior teller. I learned a lot about IRA's and CD at the branch. The managment team seemed a little overwhelmed because IRA sales where placed on the branch manager and reflected on his/her – more... pay. The hardest part of the job was the constant paper work and maintance along with many audits. I enjoyed meeting new people and becoming part of there daily life. – less

I also had In aisle training for my job, and also had basic banking training for my position. Also will be taking another training class very soon on how to cross sell bank products. Management – more... at my job is very fun and hectic at the same time but always a lesson experience. I love my co-workers alot wouldn't trade them in for nothing. There's nothing hard about my job. Not the same as a traditional bank.
Sales Associate (Former Employee), Racine, WI – August 21, 2012
Pros: learn a great deal.
Cons: located in grocery store.
Taking care of customers and trying to get new customers. How to initiate and close sales. Management was continually changing as well as co-workers. The most enjoyable part of the job was being able to do some jobs and procedures that you cant do at other banks unless you are a personal banker.

multitasking is core to this job including cash handling and balancing, staff management and motivation, set goals, daily reports, conference calls, meetings, customer service and sales.
I enjoyed the deep customer bonds that were made and making sure customers were properly taken care of in – more... a timely manner.
there were struggles with getting the entire staff motivated and as passionate as I was about customer service, true customer service. – less
