not the best company to work for
material logistics coordinator (Former Employee), pittsburgh,paApril 5, 2015
guardians industries was a fairly good company to work for with a pay rate for most positions above the average in the pittsburgh area. the management on the other hand should try to do a better job with their hiring process and not just hired anyone who apply and end up with a personnel turn over that was unexplicable 60 to 75 percent was normal per month.

Line Worker (Former Employee), Carleton, MIFebruary 17, 2015
Pros: breaks, benefitts, pay
Cons: uniforms
My typical day at work consist of me packing glass away for 12 hours a day. I learned how to package glass and the different shape and sizes of the glass that were being made. Management was good and they really cared about there employees and there health working there. I had really good Co - Workers they thought me a lot there and how to make in the glass business but most of all how to work at a fast pace.

Guardian prides it self on never having a lay off. Unfortunately, high turn over due to below average salaries. Have plant all over the world with a strong commitment to safety

Assembly Line Production Worker (Current Employee), Fort Wayne, INNovember 5, 2014
Most days are difficult due to the 12 hour shifts, but the other coworkers help make it better by making jokes or just being nice. Thr hardest part of the job is that everyday is a 12 hour shift. The most enjoyable part is knowing that at the end of the day, if we got out a lot of parts, that we did a great job.

Operator/QC Tech (Former Employee), Richburg, SCOctober 21, 2014
Pros: bonuses
Cons: rotating shifts
Typical day involved closing up completed stoches to be shipped to customer. Inspection of the glass, which was very critical. Also, manual pack which was the hardest part of the day.The company is very team oriented and relied on the operators to be self-motivated. The most enjoyable part of the day for me was the beginning when I helped to get the shift set up.

Pros: great benefits
Cons: no sick leave
Typical day consisted of updating calendars for both anniversaries and birthdays. Answering phones, updating various spreadsheets for Human Resources. Processing invoices for accounts payable, verifying accounts were kept within payment terms.

Pleasant and nice place to work at, friendly co-workers and management. I enjoyed greeting people coming in the front lobby door, whether to apply for a job or a vendor coming in to meet with either management or sales.

Work load fluctuates from day to day depending on schedule. Some workers are looking for a career while others are looking for a pay check till they find something better. Production is the most important aspect but safety is a constant concern.

Pros: steady employment, good benefits, decent pay
A typical day at Guardian, is fast paced, with many changes in summer its usually over 90-100+ degrees, I have learned many things about the process to make the product. I have enjoyed mostly the relationships you develop with your co-workers and supervisors. As for management I imagine they are the same as most companys, they have the responsibility to deliver a quality product to the customer when the customer requires or needs it.
