This place is a cluster.
Pharmacy Technician (Former Employee) –  Brunswick, MEJanuary 24, 2017
This was one of the most dysfunctional workplaces I have ever worked at. Management is chiefly concerned only with raking in more business, and doesn't particularly care about helpful input from the technicians who actually DO the work. All that matters is money, and keeping the customer happy, even if their demands are ridiculous.

There is plenty of backstabbing, drama, fakeness, and unprofessional behavior here, so if you're one who likes to talk about and undermine your coworkers behind their backs and pretend to be friendly to their faces, this is the place for you. This kind of thing isn't squashed by management; rather, they participate in it.

There are better pharmacies in the area than this one. Stay away from this soul-sucking place.

This company has great pharmacists that teach you a lot. Coworkers are friendly and very willing to help you with any questions. It is a very family like atmosphere with coworkers and they like treat their employees great when everything is productive and are doing a good job.

Good company to work for but this particular branch has verry poor management.
Purchasing Assistant (Former Employee) –  Punta Gorda, FLJanuary 15, 2017
Guardian as an overall company is a good company to work for. However this particular location struggles with the growth of becoming a new Guardian Pharmacy that is still ran by the old owners the conflict is not worth what the company has to offer. The management here has the interest in learning the Guardian policies just so they can find the loopholes to defy the upper management.

Every company has it's good and it's bad. Guardian over the past 2 years has had a positive change in culture and has become a great environment. The management team is basically all new with the exception of the "Big Boss" and HR and they all care about you and the team you work with on a day to day basis. People that have left the company years ago have come back or re-applying, therefore I believe it reflects positively for Guardian. I have worked for this company for 8 years and advancement is something that is achieved through putting an extra foot forward, dedication, and caring about your job and the company as a whole. With every company the people you work with are important to creating a good or bad environment. it isn't management's job to help foster relationships with their team, but they try anyway. The company has team building events, lunches, and their door is always open for suggestions. i have worked for other pharmacies and would encourage anyone reading this to apply and keep an open mind. the pay is better than a retail environment and the people here are supportive and friendly on all shifts.

Fulfillment Technician (Former Employee) –  Birmingham, ALDecember 28, 2016
It was an all in all ok experience. If you like working by yourself doing your own duties it's fine BUT if it is your week to work late you are there until EVERYTHING is correct and complete no matter how many hours you've been there. This happening over and over resulted to me finding a different company because it did interfere with my night classes. But benefits and pay were ok.

I enjoyed working at this facility. I learned a lot and fellow staff were extremely helpful. A typical work day was full and productive. The most enjoyable part of my job was meeting new people daily. The hardest part of my job was taking on more tasks that were given by other co workers unnecessarily.

Take a pass on this job!
Pharmacy Technician (Current Employee) –  Kernersville, NCSeptember 27, 2016
This was the most dysfunctional job that i have ever worked at! I have worked for this company for 7 yrs. When it was southern pharmacy it was a nice place to work but when they sold out to Guardian things went downhill quick! People were getting fired simply because they were not in the same clique .there is no way to advance in this company, some of the management constantly kept up drama! No training,or support to do the job right! The pay was average .I would say the best thing about this job was dealing with the customers. I would also say the worse thing about it was the management sub par and clueless on how to do the job. This place is one firing away from someone going postal!
Pros
paid lunches

Pharmacy Technician (Former Employee) –  Saint Petersburg, FLSeptember 19, 2016
Everyone was treated based upon how the management liked you. The employees always got into trouble based on "Hear Say". Some are the Pharmacists are great, but others are lazy. Not one employee in the pharmacy was treated equally or fairly. There's no "Room for advancement". Only about 4 or 5 techs at night. Favoritism was horrible. Always promised to learn different things, but if the management didn't care for you, you didn't learn it.

Too much stress, not enough help, lack of advancement opportunities, pharmacy boss thinks you always owe her something, she was quick to bad mouth other employees to their fellow employees. STAY AWAY. You'll go in there thinking its a great opportunity... But quick to learn that it's a "dog eat dog" environment.
Pros
The "Big boss" cared. The pharmacy boss... She didn't care at all. Pay was decent.
Cons
it's a "dog eat dog" environment

Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) (Former Employee) –  Punta Gorda, FLSeptember 16, 2016
Previously privately owned was great. Guardian took over it went downhill. continuous workflow all day.

Learned you can't trust anyone.

Management at best wanted to be your friend.

Co-workers for the most part were great with 1 or 2 exceptions of Team leads who let the title go to their head.

If you want to get your foot in the door for learning long term care, then its ok but as for a career I would look elsewhere.

Pay

Don't trust the management and keep to yourself.
Billing Specialist (Former Employee) –  Brunswick, MEJuly 30, 2016
After 8 years of loyal service and hard work, I was let go. I had great reviews, got bonuses (that no one knew about). I always received my raises. Then business slowed down and I knew I was being targeted. It's sad when you think you actually matter to the company and they just push you out the door because they need to cut your salary but won't admit that. All that matters to management in this location is the all mighty dollar.
Cons
Management talks about workers behind their back with your co-workers.

Pharmacy Technician (Former Employee) –  Kernersville, NCJuly 29, 2016
This company was great at first. It was a "mom and pop" operation and felt like a family business. It felt we were all in it together. Then , the owners sold out to Guardian and everything changed. It then became all about the dollars. While in business, you want to make money, but you can't lose site of your employees, for they are the ones who drive your business. People who are are appreciated will do far more than what is expected of them. People who couldn't cut it in one are were transferred and promoted in another department. Nepotism runs rampant in this office leaving no room for advancement. Cliquish behavior is in plain view of management and continued. The company cares only about the mighty dollar and not the employee and sometimes question their commitment to the customer.
Pros
Free lunches
Cons
Cliquish, nepotism, favoritism, the "old boys club"

Staff Accountant (Former Employee) –  Atlanta, GAJune 2, 2016
Nice people, but they ultimately only care about the business - not the individual. You'll meet some nice coworkers, but don't expect to have much job security or advancement potential. Also, management doesn't receive training and the roles/responsibilities are constantly changing.

Unstructured workplace which is short staffed and has high turnover
Data Entry Technician (Former Employee) –  Deerfield Beach, FLMay 5, 2016
The place is run like bootcamp. You are barely allowed out of your seat. If you call in sick, you are given an "occurrence". If you want to modify your lunch, you are given an "occurrence". If you need to leave early unplanned, you are given an "occurrence". They are not very flexible. They have all these rules, but then only require certain people to follow them. Corporate in Atlanta is all about professionalism, but there is none at this local level. Due to staff shortage (always about the bottom line), a lot of the customers are very upset and nasty. Some employees have attitudes and love drama. Training is minimal. You will be doing more than one job. Since they don't pay the greatest, some of the help is not the best. There is no real h.r. at this location and there is no receptionist, so everyone answers phones. Teamwork is lacking and communication is poor. The workplace is not kept very clean and software is out of date (another bottom line thing).

upset customers and drama

My co-workers are awesome to work with. However, the management is unconcerned with the well being of their employees. We are asked to complete tasks without the proper resources to help us. The best part of my day is being able to communicate with our patients and clients.

The worst company to work for!!!
Data Entry Clerk (Former Employee) –  Deerfield Beach, FLApril 13, 2016
Unfortunately this company is run by individuals who thrive on drama!! They are very unprofessional and very clique-ish. If your part of a certain clique and somebody doesn't like you, you will probably be fired. It's like high school but worse.

Good place to work if you like chaos
Pharmacy tech (Former Employee) –  Marietta, GAJanuary 18, 2016
Company is all about making money. Treatment is based on favoritism and bias feelings. Schedules are not flexible but managers are very demanding of your time. Which leaves no time for personal lives or even attending school. Raises are slim to nonexistent and there are never any incentives such as bonuses. Most employees do more than job description and do not get proper compensation. Company takes on new business constantly and make promises to improves or provide assistance but never provides enough staff to do so which leaves space for errors which employees are blamed for. There's no regard for the quality of the product for the patients they service. All in all, this company does not care about their employees just making money.
