Poorly Managed Corporate Office
Senior Director of Product Development (Former Employee), Los Angelesm, CA – January 11, 2013
Pros: some of my co-workers
Cons: work/life balance, advancment, pay/benefits. management
For as hard as the employees work there is very little respect from upper management. There is no work life balance at the corporate office as many of the employees are overwhelmed with so much work, and pressure to complete it that it is hard to leave...ever. Not all departments are like this but if you work in production or product development prepare – more... to be underpaid, under appreciated, with no possibility for advancement. It makes it even more difficult when you see people in other departments advancing thanks to their good upper management. If I had to go back I would have never accepted a job at Guess. – less

Fun work place!
Seasonal Sales Associate (Former Employee), Hazelwood, MO – November 4, 2012
Pros: close to home, co-workers where nice, pay range.
Cons: schedule, hours.
A typical day at work would be assistanting customers who are looking for sports hats, some would like them stitched.
I've learned how to work the cashier and embrodiery.
My manager was a really cool guy, which made work even better.
The hardest part was making sure the embrodiery was stitched on perfectly.
The most enjoyable was my co-workers, and – more... the area was really close to home. – less

Productive and friendly enviroment
E-Commerce Merchandiser (Former Employee), Los Angeles, CA – September 4, 2012
Pros: casual work place with a great cafe as well as a gym on site
Cons: not feeling very secure with a job as lay offs happened very often
I loved what I did while working for GUESS. I started as an assitant project manager whcih then led to an assistan buyer. I finished my last 3 years as a E-commerece Merchandiser which I enjoyed very much. The work enviroment was great and the people were friendly to get along with. I really enjoyed going to work as I got along with everyone. The most – more... enjoyable part of my job was everything! Great people and great enviroment equals happy employee at the end of each day. – less

nice place and hard workers
sales force (Former Employee), North Carolina – January 11, 2012
Cons: pay isnt enough, no commision for sales
i worked at a guess and the people there are so kind and all hard workers. they keep the shop in check and there is always someone available to help customers. it felt great to be part of the crew but the pay for part time is minimum wage with no profit from sales so i lost my inspiration but continued working harder than ever. Workers get a percentage – more... off for new clothing, yet its unfortunate that two weeks pay can barely cover jeans and a shirt – less
