The Special Events Officer and Raiser’s Edge Specialist will oversee all of Seeds of Literacy’s fundraising events, as well as managing its donor database. Some of the responsibilities will include: fundraising, planning and executing all aspects of special events, managing event expenses within the budget, recruit and manage special event committees, and secure sponsorships, donations, and guests for special events. Must have a high degree of initiative, “can do” attitude, flexible, team and detailed oriented, well- organized, and can pay attention to detail.
Bachelor’s degree in business communications, marketing, nonprofit management, or other related field required. Three to five years’ experience of progressively responsible work in the nonprofit sector, preferably strong event planning skills. Solid experience leading and managing volunteers. Good computer skills and knowledge of database programs: Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and Raiser’s Edge. Strong verbal communication and written skills.
