Exceptional Customer Service drives sales and builds customer loyalty
Assistant Store Manager (Former Employee), Garden City, NY – May 17, 2013
Pros: healthcare /dental plan
Cons: high turnover rate of district sales managers
Typical Day at Work:
- opening/closing registers
-conducting all types of register transactions (i.e. sales, returns, exchanges)
-provide legendary customer service (i.e. fulfill customer needs, suggest add-ons)
-review applications, conduct interviews, hire and train employees, complete HR paperwork)
-create and maintain visual presentations
-restock – more... merchandise

I learned the importance of providing exceptional customer service to produce sales and build customer loyalty.

Management team worked to be effective and consistent in all areas of operations in the business.

Co-workers performed for the greater good of the store's needs over their personal needs. Great rapport built with all employees.

Most difficult part of the job was dealing with external theft issues.

Most enjoyable part of the job was receiving highly-favored customer surveys about my quality of service. – less

This is a great location to work part-time.
Sales Associate / Cashier (Current Employee), Tucson, AZ – May 1, 2013
Pros: short shifts
Cons: no breaks
A typical day at Gymboree is greeting customers and helping them find what they are looking for. Customers go in looking for something and I help satisfy their wants and needs. Gymboree sells children's clothes and many children go along with their parents to shop. Our main priority is customer service. It is crucial to help the parents shop as the – more... children are present too. – less

Fun workplace, but very busy
Sales Assistant (Former Employee), El Cajon, CA – April 29, 2013
Pros: everyone cared for one another.
Cons: no merchandise deals
A Typical day at work would be to stock the store and ask if the customers needed any help, while relaying our deals that are going on.
What i learned here was how to better communicate with a Customer and keep a small talk while finding what they need.

The Management was very nice, a great place to work at.

My Co-workers were also very well educated – more... on how to run their job.

The Hardest part of my job there was during Holidays, and having "rush hour" although we, my coworkers and myself, successfully went through every day with Great Positive Numbers.

The most enjoyable part of the job was to see the customer be happy with their purchase when they walked away. – less

Challenging
Assistant Manager (Former Employee), Bridgewater, NJ – April 4, 2013
Pros: flexibility
Cons: inconsistancy
This was a retail position for upscale children's clothing. We maintained the store front according to Gymboree Corp. guidelines to the exact detail. New clothing arrived approximately every 3 weeks which could be difficult moving out in order to meet sales goals.
The best part of the job was meeting so many people and learning more about myself; the – more... worst part of the job was the constant schedule changing. – less

Sales Lead (Former Employee), Lawrenceville, GA – March 21, 2013
Pros: positive atmosphere, good wholesome and diverse environment
Cons: unwillingly to work with college schedule. unorganized management.
Gymboree is a fun place to work if you plan on staying and growing within the company or if you just need a part-time job. The people are friendly and hard workers. They aren't to willingly to work around a college schedule if you are a Sales Lead or higher though.
