Great place to work for specially if you are a peoles' person. Gives me very good opportunities to get connected with people from different aspects!
Tax Professional (Current Employee), Tukwila, WA –
Pros: great place to work for, to balance between job and family
Cons: limitation on career growth
The company givea me a great chance to interact with all kinds of people. I do prepare taxes and set and achieve goals on selling of different banking and block products. And got a recognition as a Block Star in the company in the past and always get a highest rating on Customer Satisfaction on the survey conducted by the company. Always a good team – more...  player. When working in the team environment I don't think of myself. Its up to everyone to accomplish the desired goals whatever they may be. My coworkers has always given me good remarks. The company has helped me learning a lot about customer service(listening, marketing, selling, building a long term relationship, setting and achieving goals) but now I want to move to even more responsibilites & challenges and want to expand my knowledge! I get many chances everyday to make meaningful connection with lots of different people at tax desk and at interpreting service! – less

I worked for this company for 12 years
Enrolled Agent (Current Employee), Bangor, PA –
Pros: having dinner right after hardest part of season
Cons: short breaks, no healthcare, only part of the year
This is mainly a senseonal job. The day goes fast and seems like your busy all the time.
The people I work with are fun and will always going out of there way to answer a question.
The hardest is keeping up with the lasest law changes.
Management requires 30 hours of class room work to keep working there. If you stay within the company there is no charge – more...  to you. – less

Really enjoyed this position
Supported the Office Leader (Former Employee), Fort Bragg, NC –
Pros: got along great with my co-workers
As a CSP, my typical work day began with greeting clients, calling clients to remind them about their appointments. My Office Leader was absolutely amazing at her job and it showed. I learned a lot just from listening to my coworkers about how taxes actually worked.

Overall Experience
Seasonal Tax Professional (Former Employee), Greater Sudbury, ON –
Pros: accurate tax returns
Cons: poor salary
On a typical day you could service and care for up to 15 to 20 clients and prep their tax and other tax related services for them .
The work environment is great , your co-workers are amazingly helpful and kind . They are ready to help if you encounter a problem.

The hardest part of the job is that you are under enormous amount of pressure as you prep – more...  the taxes in front of your client . You need to make sure that you enter the right data and make no mistakes . – less

The most enjoyable part of the job
Office Manager/Tax Specialist II (Current Employee), Meridian, MS –
Pros: yearly bonus available
Cons: seasonal
The most enjoyable part of working with H&R Block is that customer service is the focus of everything. The work hours accommodate clients. The level of training available for Tax Pros and continued training for managers are to help ensure clients has someone there who can more than adequately take care of all their needs. From making the appointment – more...  to making thank you calls a week later the focus is on doing whatever needs to be done to satisfy the client and make sure they feel secure and worry free. – less

Learning and helping clients with their taxes
Senior Tax Advisor IV (Current Employee), Wheeling, WV –
I enjoy learning new ideas and We do a lot of research..
Helping clients with their tax preparation.
Assisting with IRS letters
We all work together with one goal in mind, Helping clients
with their taxes..
Hardest part of the job is calling the IRS and waiting for them
to answer while they have you on hold for seems forever...
trying to get problems – more...  solved and getting theIRS to input
info and then making sure when you call again that they are
on the right track with what you spoke to them about last time
you talked with them..
Most enjoyable part of the job is when clients recommend you
to their friends and family. – less

I love that you can go to any of the workers and ask questions and no one made you feel less of a person.

The hardest part of the job at first was calling customers to confirm appointments but it got easier

Great environment!
Client Service Professional (Former Employee), San Diego, CA –
Pros: hard work gets recognized, teamwork is encouraged, free tax prep
Cons: very limited advancement opportunities
Its a great 2nd job. Since the majority of the employees leave after the tax season and come back at the end of the year, it easily becomes almost like a small family feeling. It can get pretty intense during the peak season with personalities especially those of the long timers, but peak only lasts a few weeks.
