Long nights short breaks and hard work.
Grocery Stocker (Former Employee), Waco, TX – May 9, 2013
Pros: good pay
Cons: long nights, short breaks
Start the night by breaking down the truck onto pallets for setup. Once truck is down we begin to seperate items in the correct department or location. Then we begin to stock the products.
I learned to work with a sence of urgency and intent to get the job done.
Co-workers were just that, some friendly some were very closed. Each had their the isle – more... and stuck to that isle.
the hardest part about the job was the time frame in which everything had to be done. It didnt matter if the truck was seven hundred pieces or twenty-five hundred pieces the time frame was the same.
The most enjoyable part was when the job was done, knowing that I had busted my hump and got the job completed. – less

Really exciting place to work for
Cashier/Customer Service (Former Employee), San Antonio, TX – May 8, 2013
Pros: 2 paid breaks, 30 minute unpaid break. paid weekly, diverse
Cons: n/a
Fast Pace environment, I learned how much they believe in diversity allowing you to be your own person. Management was awesome. Partners I work with were really fun. The most enjoyable were our weekly parties at the store for the partners, really showed how much we were appreciated by HEB.

Market Cutter/Seafood Representative (Former Employee), Houston, TX – May 7, 2013
Pros: learned great skills
Cons: took away from my child and was fired because of that.
I was a partner for over 13 years and learned so much that I could write a book. The hardest part of the job was choosing my job over the welfare of my son.

Fun, but hard working job.
Parking Lot Attendant (Current Employee), Cypress, TX – April 30, 2013
I love working here b/c for me it made a great job to get me through High School. They gave me flexible hours and all the Managers are easy to talk to and are reliable. Most everyone that works here is friendly and easy to talk to and get along with. The hardest part of my job would have to be working an extremely busy day where I hardly get a break. – more... But the most enjoyable part of my job is the freedom that i get outside including being able to listen to music while i work and being able to talk to the people i work with freely. – less

night stocker
Stocker (Former Employee), San Antonio, TX – April 30, 2013
Cons: everything, just talk to real employees before making final a yes
Nice store to shop for food, no place to work at though.

I can only give a review on the night stocking position. As a night stocker, your typical hours are 10pm - 7am but that's also dependent on how fast you can finish the work load. you will gather pallets of products off the trucks and stock the shelves. after everything is stocked you and the – more... rest of the employees with face the shelves, basically make every shelves look like a wall. The management expects you to stock about 130- 180 products an hour. Where I worked at the management where breathing down my neck because I wasn't fast enough and this was with in my 2nd wk of time, they expected me to work as fast as others who have been there for years. They also let the team leader decide if your a temp or perm employer which isn't fair despite whether he likes you or doesn't. and don't expect to move up because there is seniority, unless your a pretty good push over then you might do well up the ladder, but if your like me who gives respect where its earned and workshard and relentless then your stuck at the bottom. – less
