Harris Controls is in the business of selling/designing/programming/verifying HVAC controls systems. Represented product lines are Honewell and KMC. We are seeking controls technicians with an aptitude for computers, networks, mechanical, electrical, fluid and air, temperature and pressure control. Must have a strong desire to continually learn and keep up with technology.
Tasks of the job include but are not limited to:
Reviewing Mechanical/Electrical prints.
Reviewing HVAC control drawings.
Reviewing product specification and installation documentation.
Understand HVAC system operation.
Coordinate with other trades to meet job completion schedule.
Will need to be certifiable on lifts.
Working knowledge of electricity understanding Ohms and Watts law.
Verifying equipment installation.
Verifying correct installation of communications and trouble shoot same for RS-422, RS-485, Lon, Ethernet, etc.
Load databases, KMC or Honeywell Webs.
Verifying control system input/output/actuation functionality.
Set up switches, routers, repeaters.
Work with building owners setting up ethernet routing.
Building HVAC controls system graphics.
Read and interpret operation from HVAC equipment ANSI wiring details.
Verifying HVAC system operation including pumps, chillers, boilers, air handlers.
Ability to create application programming of Tridium or BASIC style programming not immediately necessary but a benefit.
Document all work performed.
Backs up databases.
Ability to modify vision drawings beneficial.
Functional knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, Visio.
Provide training to end users.
Provides warranty and technical support for end users.
Service existing installations.
Safety is a priority.
Ability to carry ladders, equipment and climb structures is an essential function of the position.
Position doesn't include HVAC controls system engineer and design but capability to perform task would be beneficial. Must be self motivated, can work alone or as a team. Must manage own backlog to insure timely and accurate job completion.
Minimum a 2-year technical degree or equivalent work experience. Basic knowledge of CAD Systems helpful. Experience with mechanical and electrical systems desirable.
