Full-Time Non-Exempt Position

JOB PURPOSE: Responsible for maintaining and supporting peripheral equipment, telecommunications system, mobile phones and providing support for users’ software and hardware needs.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY: nder general supervision, performs troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and installation of new hardware and software. Provides end-user support and instruction. Maintains tracking documentation for issues, hardware, software, telephones, and other electronic devices.

QUALIFICATIONS: Formal related education/training or experience in information systems. Associate degree in computer science preferred.CompTIA certifications (A+, Network+, Security+, Server+), and/or Microsoft certifications (MCP or greater) are preferred.Ability to install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain related software applications and peripheral equipment used in the organization. Ability to analyze and solve problems quickly and effectively. Demonstrate a level of tenacity to research the issue to find appropriate resolution.Demonstrate ability to independently perform all of the duties of the position efficiently and effectively.Demonstrate ability to work in an organized process. Able to document, processes, training guides, and related issue documentation. Ability to prioritize daily tasks, support issues and projects effectively.Demonstrate ability to communicate positively and effectively with staff, volunteers and management-level personnel, including instruction of individuals and small groups.Commitment to carrying out the purposes, philosophy, and goals of Hospice.Possess valid Ohio Driver’s License.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the Director of IT with maintaining and monitoring of network hardware and software to ensure their availability to users. Monitors daily back up logs to make sure backups are successful. Resolves problems that result in unsuccessful backups.Monitors Antivirus systems. Resolves issues with infections or AV software issues.Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain various computer equipment, peripherals, and data communication devices. Identifies possible improvements in computer systems and makes recommendations to the Director of IT for changes to the information systems.Maintain user accounts on: the network; the electronic medical records system; the telephone system; the voice mail system; cell phones; and the building security system. Instructs new computer users on the care and use of computer equipment; how to access and navigate the HOCO network; and how to use the telephone system. Assists with the development of training materials and procedures. Evaluate and resolve user problems. Responds to user requests for assistance and determine nature and extent of support needed. Provides support or refers problems to the appropriate staff member. Document resolutions for future reference in IT Management System.Sets up equipment for employee use. Ensures equipment runs properly and the appropriate applications are correctly installed. Performs periodic maintenance on hardware, including downloading and installing updates, defragmenting hard drives, etc.Maintains inventory tracking system for hardware, software, and cell phones. Keep abreast of new software and hardware developments.Maintain regular work attendance.Demonstrate professionalism by awareness of posture, dress, and language.

WORK ASSIGNMENT: Requires the ability to perform a variety of duties characterized by frequent change.Requires availability outside of regular business hours, including weekends and holidays. equires travel to satellite offices and inpatient unit.
