Stay far away!
Partner Account Manager (Former Employee), CAOctober 20, 2014
Pros: great products to sell
Cons: no raises, strange commission plan
I left a competitor to go to HP. What a mistake. No raises, many WFRs (Work Force Reductions). I loved the job, but HP's culture has gone completely down hill.

Busy work place.
WIP Auditor (Former Employee), Houston, TXOctober 20, 2014
Pros: often a lot of overtime.
Cons: slim to no chance of advancement within the company.
Typical day you are working on an assembly line and have set daily goals to meet. The hardest part of the job was being over worked because of being short staffed. The most enjoyable part of my job was my fellow co-workers on my assembly line; we worked together as a family.

Being a Trusted advisor in my accounts allows me to help drive success and adoption within my customer accounts.
Premier Services Business Development Manager (Current Employee), Chicago, ILOctober 20, 2014
Pros: trusted advisor
As a customer trusted advisor, I am focused on making sure that I understand my customer requirements and validate that they are leveraging the products and achieving success. Also, I will maintain contact with customers to serve as a point of contact for technical and business escalations. Finally, I will engage with different groups within the organization – more... from sales, services, product management, and support to make sure customer is getting what they need. – less

I don't recommend working at HP
Business Analyst (Current Employee), Madison, WIOctober 15, 2014
Pros: some of the people are cool to work with
Cons: not allowed to talk to those people because of unnecessary micromanagement, terrible benefits, difficulty getting time off, not recognized for outstanding work
The Madison office is pretty terrible. The benefits barely pass as acceptable and getting time off in certain positions is nearly impossible. If you are looking to move up in the company or even sideways expect to wait a very long time. Even when accepted for a new position they won't let you move for at minimum of 6 months up to a year.
Certain management – more... only care about numbers and will intentionally ignore a request for a one on one meeting just so numbers are met(which never seems to happen).
They are constantly letting people go and making people take on more responsibility than they can handle on a daily basis. Making sure someone is busy during the day is good and I agree with making sure there is plenty of work but when you are told you have to not only do your work but the work of others who were just let go because of workforce reduction, things can get a little hard to handle. – less

HP was awesome place to work. Our team had free lunch Fridays on many occasions. Very flexible and cared about employees welbeing.
Customer Support Resource Manager (Former Employee), Atlanta, GAOctober 15, 2014
Pros: yes, we had free lunches at least once every 2 months.
Cons: i can't speak of any during my tenure at hp.
Typical work day is challenging and rewarding.
I learned a lot from different departments as was presented with different challenges and/or opportunities.
Management style varied from each department. However, overall, HP has great management culture that cares about employees and the community.
I had the most amazing co-workers overall.
I would not – more... say hard but rather challenging, which is not a bad thing.
The most enjoyable part is that I always had the opportunity to learn something every time. Very pleasant experience. – less

Software Engineer / QA Test Engineer (Former Employee), Fort Collins, ColoradoOctober 15, 2014
Pros: flexibility
Cons: fair amount of churn in the company at the moment...
Come to the office (or possibly work from home via telecommute) working with geographically dispersed groups learning about how to use our own products as well as working to evolve our products to provide better time to value for customers. My manage was completely supportive of increasing our own skills by taking online courses provided by HP. The – more... hardest part and more rewarding part of the job was getting our release out the door with our own strict schedule of quarterly deliverable. The best part of the job was its flexibility as well as learning about new techniques and software. – less

Customer Service Representative (Current Employee), Athens, ALOctober 15, 2014
Pros: fun working team environment
Cons: job is being transferred overseas at end of month
my day start off with logging into transcera and ncss and start taking incoming calls from customers. from placing new orders for pro active or wen hair care to resolving financial issues on customers accounts, processing payments and showing overall empathy for customers and resolving their issues in a timely fashion also corresponding with team mates – more... and supervisors through lync messaging talking with other employees about any issues they may be experiencing with customers and also helping them resolve any hard issues they may encounter with a customer. everyday I learn something new whether it be a new way of processing accounts or new material that is updated on our advocate avenue daily. I really enjoy everyone I work with everyone gets along so well we are all one big family and support system. there are no hard part to my daily routine it is very much enjoyable and I really enjoy helping people. – less

Good workplace, good benefits, poor strategic vision
Senior IC Operations Consultant to CIA and ODNI (Former Employee), Classified client sitesOctober 14, 2014
Pros: colleagues, work environment, pay and benefits
Cons: limited strategic vision beyond it solutions
Great working environment at client sites. Compensation and benefits are exceptional. However, stove-piped, IT-focused business units lack flexibility to integrate capabilities across business lines. Management strategy leads to lack of competitiveness in, for example, supporting classified mission assurance programs.

HR Partner and Analyst (Current Employee), San Francisco Bay Area, CAOctober 14, 2014
HP took the time to develop my skills as an entry level employee and that enabled me to continually progress in my career and expand my HR skills. The best part of the job is the people I work with and that makes even the most challenging job fun and exciting.

HP is a giant that is on its way to a painful death
Software Engineer (Current Employee), Colorado SpringsOctober 13, 2014
I have learned a lot. I have been on good teams and bad teams. The work is not too hard and you will have a good work life balance in most teams, unless they are trying to push you out. Your experience there all depends on which team you land in. There are many good people there. though on some teams differences are not accepted and unfortunately bullying – more... is allowed sometimes. – less
