How it is to Work for Habitat for Humanity
Volunteer Work (Current Employee), Brampton, ONDecember 21, 2013
Pros: i'm able to get volunteering hours
Cons: that they cant hire you to work for them
I feel that volunteering at Habitat for humanity is for a good cause because of what they provide to those who are less fortunate. Since I work at the Retail Re-Store I am able to provide customer assistance, help out the manager, and provide a positive work environment. During my time here stocking the shelves and pricing products are part of a typical – more... day. I enjoy working with my co-workers because they help you to get the job done and are also good people. – less

At the job I helped Tim the manager re-stalk shelves and help the costumers find what they needed. I had a lot of fun learning things about different tool and appliances, the people I worked with were very kind and helpful when i didn't know what to do.

Wonderful Organization
Keyed-Manager (Former Employee), East Peoria, ILDecember 15, 2013
Under new Directorship, Making many changes to meet new E.D. desires. Many new hires are short term, however, employees are not told that upon hiring...
Once all new changes are made and new policies are written and in effect this should be a good source of employment; but not until changes are written to become policy.

Bookkeeper/Family Support Coordinator (Former Employee), Beaumont, TXDecember 1, 2013
Pros: community interaction
Cons: director that didn't seem to care about clients.
typical day consisted of bookkeeping & general clerical duties. Collections, interacting with clients, problem solving. Direct supervisor was great. Really cared about clients. Co-workers were great. Hardest part of job was working with director. She seemed to have lost the vision of the organization. Most enjoyable was giving back to community and – more... client interaction. – less
