My typical work day is busy. I come into the store. I need to straighten out the store and make sure everything is well organized. I check the sales that my other coworkers did the night before. The most enjoyable about my job is working with customers. I'm a very friendly and outgoing so I love talking to people. Relieving co-worker of their shift. Learned to count down registers. management would leave a list of duties to get done. This job was a very easy job and nothing would be considered hard. The most enjoyable thing would be the customer who frequent the odd store.

The people there are bright and kind and very encouraging and it was my ideal job because even though it's not so much fast pace heavy lifting was involved when ever I was there and I got chances to provide customer service so Habitat for Humanity in my opinion really got me wanting to be a hard worker.

*A typical day at work would be, Sign in, Price items, Load And unload the truck that comes everyday.
*I learned how to talk to costumers and how I should price items.
*My co-workers were friendly. They helped me out when I needed help.
*The hardest part of the job was unloading the scrap at the scrap yard.

A great company but the managers are not loyal or trustworthy. If you are not a brown-noser, this company may not be the right one for you.

Great job. Its always good to know that you have a hand in helping someone in need.

I was a member of the habitat for humanity club and just attended meetings as i was not able to go on many trips because i was played baseball at saint vincent college as well.

a typical day at work is I plan out my route for the day and leave by 9:30.
I have learned alot about how to run and manage a store the right way and the wrong way.
my co-workers for the most part are nice and I get along with them but they have there flaws such as being immature.
th hardest part of my job is that my managerdoes not understand how to – more... run the store and does not listen to his employee's and mis manages the store because he is trying to do to many things at once.

I spend alot of time working with customers in the store or on the phone. I get to split my day with being a cashier, data entry of donations, printing thank you postcards, merchandising front end products and assisting with pricing.

Constantly moving around working the register or picking up donations on the truck.

I loved working for this company. I have no complaints or regrets about my time there. I enjoyed providing guest with the a clean quality product and handling their needs. I loved the constanly changing environment. I had the best co-workers and management that provided support when needed to all.

Would of been a better place to work if the supervisor had not been a procrastinator. She put off things that should have been done immediately.

Its a fun hard working environment, I love the team work! learning carpentry, how to measure, to cut and use a hammer and other tools

Working at Habitat has been an amazing experience. For my first job I can say I was very lucky to get the opportunity to work in there. It has a great management team and friendly colleagues. Since day one, I learnt how the system works in this retail business, from the origin of every product until the customer's serving experience. Sorting out that day’s delivery, inventory check and data entry on all items.
Sorting timetable for breaks and lunches for stockroom teams, and any holidays that need booking on the system.
Third party liaising with delivery / supply Chain Company sorting out any problem that may come up the day.

I would volunteer at Habitat for Humanity ReStore. I enjoyed the other volunteers and employees. Everyone was friendly, and often I would complete a task while teaming up with another volunteer. Sometimes these tasks included putting an item together for display such as a gazebo or a BBQ. I enjoyed working with and assisting customers. If I wasn't on – more... the floor assisting customers or looking for things to tidy up on the shelves, or I would be in the back testing and opening donations to check it's condition to put it out on the shelves for sale. This volunteer position made me realize I am very interested in working with customers, and sales. Why it wasn't for me is they sold building supplies, doors, kitchens etc. I felt like I couldn't be as helpful as I should of been to customers, often having to ask someone else for help in answering a question. Though I did know my way around and would show customers were things were, and help to the best of my ability. – less
