Wonderful, Enjoyable, Productive Environment
Executive Assistant (Former Employee), Kansas City, MO –
Pros: compensation, benefits, culture, values, management.
Hallmark Cards, Inc., is a lovely place to work from every aspect. I was there 28 years and would of never left if I had not got married for the first time, wanted to take some time off to enjoy being a Mrs. for the first time, and merge two-households together. I truly miss it every single day.

It was enjoyable and a great place to work.Had a free pop machine.
Stock Handler (Former Employee), Kansas City, MO –
Pros: the benefits were good.
Cons: the drive downtown.
We would open up the store and fill orders.Check the sales floor to make sure it was stocked.
I learned a lot about inventory and end of month reports.
management made sure you were staffed properly to do business.
My co-workers and I worked together as team and had fun while
we worked.
The hardest part was when we would be getting ready for a sale.
The – more...  most enjoyable was at Christmas the store would be so
beautiful, with all the decorations – less

Territory Assistant (Current Employee), Atlanta, GA –
If you want to make little pay but deal with other people's mistakes, who get paid even less than you, than this is the perfect job. Otherwise, run!

Merchandise Rep (Former Employee), Butte, MT –
Pros: flexability in work hours
Cons: management
I enjoyed working for Hallmark Cards, it was an enjoyable job. I love helping people in customer service and this job allowed me to engage with customers. Management was scarce, when management needed to be at a support level it was never to be found. The hardest part of the job was meeting with my manager, she was never around.

Retail Merchandiser (Former Employee), Wilmington, NC –
Pros: the job was fun and rewarding
Cons: not enough hours
This is a great company to work for. The job and merchadise is classy. I loved when the new merchandise woudl come in and I was the first to see it. I loved the look on customers faces when they would see a new item and load the cart up. The Hardest part of the job was when the season was over and there was not enough hours.

Company with excellent standards, product and gave fair opportunities to advance within the company.
Customer Service Representative (II) (Former Employee), 2t501 McGee, Kansas City, Mo –
Pros: good paid, excellent company, advancement opportunities, highly respected, connections to other leading companies.
Cons: hard to advance without a degree.
Hallmark was a leader within the greeting card industry at the time of my employement. They provided excellent opportunity to learn the about the industry (greeting cards) and allowed me to employ leadership skill in various projects within the department. Hallmark provided connection of employees to management by requiring a coaching or mentors approach – more...  to supervising which ensured employees opportunity to show their potential to help them advance within the company.

Hallmark created a culture that encouraged employee contribution on all levels. Hallmark created an environment that encouraged innovative thinking made all employees feel valuable so that anyone could submit ideas. Matter-of-fact, many people of their management staff had yearly objectives to maintain mentors relationships with employees seeking to advance within the company. – less

Long hours but pay rate was very good
Assistant Manager (Former Employee), Burlington, MA –
Pros: good pay rate, flexible hours, good benefit package
Cons: growth was a very long process
Could be required to work long hours, however the pay rate was very good. The benefits package was very good although it did take a long period of time to go into effect. Scheduling was flexible if you needed time off. There was no feeling that you couldn't be replaced easily and there did not appear to be any room to grow and advance.
