Accountability is lacking in the culture. Overall people are good but seemed unhappy or frustrated with lack of career ladder for advancement which limits motivation.

Tough place to work if you like work life balance
blank (Former Employee) –  Alpharetta, GAJune 19, 2017
The company touts work life balance programs such as summer hours but most people either can't take the 1/2 day off on Friday or work their 45+ hours in the four days they are there. HR management does not have the best interest of the people.

Fast-paced and mostly pleasant working atmosphere
Mechanical Project Engineer (Former Employee) –  Irvine, CAJune 9, 2017
I was employed for several years at Halyard. I do not stay at a job for that long if the working atmosphere is not pleasant ahd/or educational for me.

The manager who hired me is still a personal friend, and one of the nicest people I know.

In most cases, personal interrelationships were easily formed with co-workers.

Customer Service Representative (Current Employee) –  Alpharetta, GAJune 6, 2017
If you are looking for work life balance and don't live in Alpharetta pass on this place. 50-70 hours a week is not enough. If you have children good luck, if you don't live in Alpharetta pass.
Pros
Salary
Cons
Excessive Hours, Employees Expendable, High Turnover

Very limited advancement opportunities
R&D (Current Employee) –  Alpharetta, GAMay 26, 2017
R&D leadership is extremely lacking. Very afraid to take significant risks or do anything truly innovative, hence the parade of me-too products they launch. Career development is pretty much only paid lip service, regardless of performance. Pay is below average for medical device industry.

Values in Name-Only, Real Leadership Lacking
Research and Development Scientist (Former Employee) –  Alpharetta, GAApril 11, 2017
Halyard has the environment and resources necessary to complete tasks and reach goals, but what's lacking is management's approach to people and to work, for it to produce results. Computerized assessments replace involved, inspiring managers.
What's most important is that upper management is unaware of the lack of leadership, of what's going on, thus lacking an understanding of how undervalued employees feel.

The company has great core values, however the mid-managers do not tend to lead by example
Development Engineer (Current Employee) –  Alpharetta, GAMarch 19, 2017
Upper management seems committed to the industry and shareholders. Middle management seems scattered. The hardest part of the job can be navigating the culture.
Pros
Company/CEO vision, good locattion
Cons
Too many managers, overall level of experienced employees lacking, horrible manufacturing locations

Terrible Management
Midlevel (Former Employee) –  Tucson, AZNovember 28, 2016
This company is not a place to work if you do not want to walk on egg shells around management. Very rude and condescending and patronizing. Co-workers are team players, they overwork their salary positions and treat their production workers like dirt beneath their feet. Avoid this company

Great company to work for with challenging opportunities. A team oriented environment where your input and ideas are welcomed and valued. Most enjoyable part of this company is the work life balance.

QUALITY SYSTEMS (Current Employee) –  ALPHARETTA GASeptember 18, 2016
I had the pleasure of being contracted for 12 months with the company and I was very satisfied working at the Alpharetta office. Unfortunately the project I was hired for was only a 12 month position. I would recommend applying here. Currently looking for a permanent position here.

Developed and designed tools in Solidworks for measurement of co-ordinates and angle position of Radio Frequency Probes and temperature measurement for heat created during lesioning process in tissue with water bath system.
 Successfully deployed the methodology to measure temperature, proper distance, angle at which tool was deployed along with change of heat with position and location for RF lesion in ex-vivo using results obtained from three different devices: Infrared Camera, Thermocouple, and Fiber optic measurement
 Deployment of tool was partially successful in live tissue testing giving very close result for heat measurement but superb positioning and angle projection was created using tool developed with was cross validated using x-rays.

Promotions from within are almost non-existent. Not everyone works as a team. Would to see management be more appreciative of their staff and compensate them accordingly.

This company is toxic and egregious google may 1st, 2016 60 minutes "strike-through"
Executive Assistant (Former Employee) –  Irvine, CAJune 5, 2016
unless you want to subject your soul, psyche and dignity to vile dis-respectful demeaning behaviors, stay far away from this company. They are sick, very very sick. I would have given no stars but the rating system required a rating. When you are part of something dishonest, YOU are that something. Profits before people is pathetic. Get a clue! unless you are into self masochism.
