Pros: communication, there's always something to do, and all guests leave with a smile on their face from our customer service
Cons: when a guest does not get exactly what they would like, or if we do not have the availability that a guest/client is looking for.
A typical day at work includes complete team work from all aspects of the hotel. Everyone working together and asking for help if/when neccessary. I negotiate and take sales calls with liesure and corporate groups. I set up our Conference room for events and ensure payment, receipt, and all details are taken care of beforehand. The hardest part of this – more... job is always making sure you confirm all guest information during reservations and group blocks, and also making sure you meet the guest or client's expectations.
The most enjoyable part of my job is interacting with our clients and guests, I love to paint a picture of what they may be looking for with their groups or even just a one night stay. All of my co workers are happy and we are all able to leave our personal issues at the door and get straight into work. I am very detail oriented and organized as to ensure all paperwork and contracts are correct and confirmed. – less
