No value for their employees
Nursing (Former Employee) – Hanover, PA – December 14, 2012
Worked at Hanover Hospital for two years. High turn over. Saw lots of employees come and go. Terrible morale overall in the department I worked in. Little to no management, and when management was present it was a lot of criticism and barking orders and very little acknowledgment of all the hard work the employees were putting in working overtime and having large assignments due to lack of staffing. The organization has no respect for employees personal beliefs and views on mandatory flu shots, and many people have quit or have been fired due to not wanting to get the flu vaccine. They even ask their employees yearly to donate their paid time off hours to the organization for the remodeling projects yet we can't donate out PTO to our coworkers if they have an extended leave do to illness, bereavement, or maternity. For full and regular part time employees you get health care coverage as soon as you start working but it is expensive!! The only positive thing I can say is there is job security, but only because staffing is so scarce they can't afford to fire anyone. Overall, and most importantly there is inadequate patient care because there is not enough staff to provide the proper care, and the staff that is there is exhausted because of putting in extra hours to help their coworkers out. Bad place to work!!
bad management, does not value employees, staffing and ability to keep employees, poor patient care.
