Filing Clerk (Current Employee) – Torrance, CA – July 9, 2015
I was basically filing files in their proper place and Making sure the resources are in their proper places. I also go and secure files that are requested by individuals who requested it. I also made document copies from the copier/ printer and send it to the proper individuals who requested it.Lastly I helped reinstate files where they properly belong on the storage shelves.
What I learned was that I need to be diligent, mindful, cautious, and do my work quickly/smoothly, and do the work accurately.
Very cordial and they were very patient with me should I NOT do the work properly and show me how to do my work step by step.
We were friendly towards each other and usually I just join in on conversations and NOT be hostile toward the co worker. Mostly I am to myself only concentrate on my work with Attention To Details.
Hard part of the job is I have hard time going step by step of doing tasks that I was given. So I have to carry a small note book and use it to do my job after taking notes on instructions that was revealed to me.
I get to work by myself in the area where I am assigned to accomplish the mission and my attention to details help me get through the work and make the time go by faster clock wise.

COUNSELOR (Current Employee) – Torrance, California – January 5, 2015
The Harbor Regional center is a dynamic work environment assisting clients with developmental delays and disabilities and their families. Providing generic resources and funded services.
On a typical day, I meet with a family or follow up with a recent meeting. In following up I write a individualized plan of outcomes and services. Additionally, assessing the need of a service/s and requesting funding is big part of the job. The job is very dynamic many things can happen on typical day.
I have learned to communicate with a variety of people from families, psychologist, vendors, services providers and staff. My organizational skills have increased due to the amount of work and clients.
Co-workers are supportive and and helpful. They are also fun. There are different activities through out the year to participate in.
The most enjoyable part of the job is seeing the progress that the clients make after being provided with the services they need.
The hardest part is not being able to provide services to some of the families due being the payer of last resort.
working with families
limited flexibility in seeing clients on monday mornings or friday afternoons.
