Shift Manager (Current Employee), Ramseur, NC – May 23, 2013
Pros: you get to meet a lot of different people
Good place to work, works great around your availability. The most enjoyable part of the job is getting to meet and talk to all the customers. The hardest part of the job is getting everyone to do their job. The pay rate is not that great for all the hard work you put into it.

Pros: friendly customers
Cons: i dont get the breaks that i am entitled to
Working at Hardee's I've learned to deal with unsatisfied customers, handle myself in the correct manner when things get out of hand. I work very well with my co-workers and have a great relationship with my customers.A typical day for me is taking orders, serving and handling money. The most enjoyable part of the job for me would be interacting with – more... my customers. – less

Shift Manager (Former Employee), Mount Pleasant, IA – May 17, 2013
Pros: regular customers
Cons: no health insurance, sometimes not breaks, often stressful, low pay
The most enjoyable part of working at Hardees was the daily customers. After working there for 6 years, I got to know some pretty well.
I did learn how to handle some pretty irate customers, which was the hardest part of the job, the best I could and to make everything right for their satisfaction. I learned about food safety and sanitation after taking – more... the managers training. – less

Cashier (Former Employee), Warrior, AL – May 17, 2013
Pros: hardees was 5 minutes away from my house
Cons: they cut my hours, had very little help in the drive thru, and my managers were mean.
A typical day at work is very busy from the time that 4:30am till you get off work at 3pm. Breakfast is the busiest time besides lunch. Every place has their rush hours. I learned how to use the friers, make sandwiches, I picked up very fast on the computers. My hiring manager was my favorite manager, when he got promoted to district manager he had – more... to leave and was replaced by 2 lady managers. They did NOT give me the respect that I believe a manager or a person in general should show someone. They was very rude to me and some of the customers which was a shock to me. My co workers was some of my friends that I had went to school with. The hardest part of my job was having to take peoples order, keep up the fries/hashbrowns, and fix drinks and take money at the same time. Not including getting the bag of food and literally running back to the window to give it to the customer. I had very little help here which is one of the reasons I had to find a better job. The most enjoyable part of my job it that it was 5 minutes away from my house and it didn't take a lot of gas to get to and from work. – less

Cook (Former Employee), Radford, VA – May 16, 2013
Pros: free lunch at the end of your shift
Cons: healthcare
I worked as a cook at Hardees Restaurant. Working in a team atmosphere assisting co-workers. I was responsible for checking the quality and quantity of received products. I cleaned and prepared various foods for cooking and serving meeting regulations. I experienced working with kitchen operations for a high grossing, fast paced fair concession kitchen. – more... I was responsible for prepping the kitchen on morning skills and I cooked and worked the line. I was responsible for keeping the kitchen clean and sanitary along with restocking inventory. Also I enjoyed making friends with the people there. – less

It was just a job
Biscuit Maker (Former Employee), Tullahoma, TN – May 15, 2013
A typical day on this job was just going in and doing what needed to be done to make a paycheck. I learned some valuable lessons while there that I will take with me everywhere I go. I really liked the management and co-workers here but I disagree with some of the work ethics. The hardest part was to pretend to be happy while a lot of drama was taking – more... place. I get along well with others and I do not like to be in the middle of conflict, especially when it has nothing to do with the job. I really enjoyed the job itself but it is hard to enjoy anything when there is always commotion around you. – less

Poor Management
Crew Member/Cook (Former Employee), Fayetteville, GA – May 14, 2013
Pros: free lunch
Cons: no healthcare, poor management
Breakfast shift was great because after work i still had my whole day ahead of me. I learned that you cant trust everything people tell you. Management was terrible and never organized. Co workers were really friendly but lazy at times. The hardest part of the job was just stocking. the most enjoyable part of the job was just pay day.

Cleaning and training
Store Associate (Former Employee), Hubert, NC – May 11, 2013
Pros: friendly work environment, daily breaks
Cons: untrustworthy employees
I would start my day by cleaning the entire store and then restocking the utensils and food, if it was needed. I would then proceed by taking the customers orders when they would walk into the store. After I walked their food to them I would help the managers and other employees with whatever they need. I would help the drive- thru by helping take orders, – more... bagging the food, and preparing the food and beverages. The managers would often have me train the new employees who would be on register by having them shadow me and then having me make sure they did the tasks required of them. After we closed I would stay until I was no longer needed and made sure the store was closed properly. – less
