Hargrove, the Lanham, Maryland-based trade show, custom exhibit, and special event company, has been the TS2 general service contractor since 2000. "When we took on the show for the Trade Show Exhibitors Association (TSEA) we viewed it as an opportunity to show the industry what we could do," McGill said. "We were also aware of the challenge – more... of providing a high level of service to exhibitors at such a high profile show for their industry."
Michael Bandy, TSEA's president, said his mandate for the show's general service contractor is to service the exhibitors in a way that makes the whole experience easier on the show manager and to create a design to reinforce the show's identity. "TS2 is hard enough because you're building a trade show experience for the trade show industry."
TS2 rotated to three cities in the four years Hargrove has served as general service contractor: Washington, D.C., Anaheim, Chicago, and to Washington's new convention center for 2003. The show announced plans to use a Washington, D.C. - Chicago rotation beginning this year.
Jason Knight, Hargrove's creative director, said the purpose of trade show design is "to own the facility for the duration of the show by branding that large area as your own. It's a real challenge in large facilities like Anaheim and McCormick Place."
"The designs for TS2 have been fantastic," said Bandy. "The graphics and the yellow carpet made the 2002 show a bright, uplifting event…appropriate for the industry and our audience in these times." – less – More from ZoomInfo »
