Watch your back
Sales Associate (Former Employee), Omaha 72nd location – March 23, 2013
Pros: free clothes!
Cons: don't trust management
I got hired during Dillons "grand opening". A month later I was called into the office and told I was being "laid off". When I went to claim unemployment benefits the management at Dillons lied and said I was "fired" and attempted to claim that I was rude to customers and several other lies that they had no paper trail to back up. I was in shock at – more... how awful they were. – less

I really enjoyed working with motorcycles.
production tech (Former Employee), Kansas City, MO – January 29, 2013
Pros: the pay was awesome and the work environment was great.
Cons: there wasn't a lot of room for advancement or the chance to change shifts.
It was a great place to work. We got to change tasks every 2 hours. It was pretty cool to see the next line of motorcycles before the rest of the world. We worked with both hand and power tools. It was pretty laid back but fun.

fun work place, great co workers
Retail Salesperson (Former Employee), NJ – January 14, 2013
this was a fun place to work, and yet another enviornment where I got to interact and form relationships with my customers. Unfortunately because this is pretty much a seasonal type of hobby, when the season came to an end, I was laid off

Miserable work environment.
Electronic Maintenance Mechanic (Former Employee), York, PA – December 31, 2012
Pros: good pay
Cons: treated like a number
Harley Davidson was a great place to work until the restructuring begin. Everyone thought once you started there, you would stay until you could retire. Where else do the employees wear the company logo by choice daily and have the company name tatooed on their body? Now, the employees are miserable and can not wait leave. Many have taken the voluntary – more... layoff. – less

Very fun job and great enviorment
Retail Sales Associate (Former Employee), Frederick, MD – September 7, 2012
Pros: employee parties, christmas, halloween, etc
Cons: breaks through out the day and hr. lunches
My day at work was selling clothes and merchandise to customers. I learned all about the clothing and merchandise in the store. It helped me build my communication skills and retail skills. The management was awesome very structured but laid back. The co-workers were amazing very friendly and professional. There really wasn't a hard part of the job, – more... I was trained on how to approach customers and how to sell there merchandise. The most enjoyable part of the job was meeting all the different types of people around the United States and the money I made there. – less

Was a great place to work now returning to the AMF days
Technical Services (Former Employee), Milwaukee, WI – August 29, 2012
Pros: historically a great place that was innovative and prideful
Cons: it is no longer a company, it is now a business.
The decline started about 5 years ago. It's hard to believe that a person who has pursued a Master's degree and has taken advantage of internal training in CI and PM, would not be placed in a position after a departmental transformation. When management at the company realizes the paycheck is not the motivation, but pride for working for an iconic brand, – more... they will then realize what the sign at the power train plant meant by employees being the most valued asset. However margins and stock price has become more important and leadership has turned into job protection. – less

Not a good place to work.
Production Technician (Former Employee), York, PA – August 24, 2012
Pros: the pay
Cons: most everything else.
I don't have a lot of good things to say about a place that lays you off and replaces you with a "casual worker".

interesting place to work
Motorcycle Sales (Former Employee), Metairie, LA – August 22, 2012
Harley is a great company to work for but the store in which I worked was all about popularity contests. If the manager was in a bad mood they took it out on the employees and set sales goals way to high for new employees. Workers would drink on the job and not be reprimanded for it yet new employees wouldn't sell enough and get fired. The turn over – more... is crazy there and it's not due to employees not working their hardest. – less

busy days and a pretty good place to work
Assymbler (Current Employee), Kansas City, MO – July 29, 2012
Pros: great pay and 4 day work weeks
Cons: 2 10 min breaks and a 30 min lunch on a 10hr shift
6-4:30 mon -thur with a fri sometimes. I have learned some good organazational skills. We have area supervisors and team leads for every group. They are pretty easy going for the most part. As long as you are performing you job duties they are good. The most challenging part of the job is having to get up so early to make it to work on time. It makes – more... for a long day. The most enjoyable part is seeing the finished product. – less

Enjoy the atmosphere, people, and job duties.
Service Inspector (Current Employee), Fort Worth, TX – July 13, 2012
Pros: good happy atmosphere in a product that i enjoy working with and also own.
Cons: not consistent in training schedule and offers a position and then changes their mind.
I am responsible for completing motocycle inspections and deliver motorcycles to customers. Responsibilities include picking up bikes that have broken down on the highway, businesses, or at customer residence. Transport customers when they have been stranded due to breakdown and deliver new bike purchases. I work with sales, mechanics, and parts department – more... sales. The hardest part of my job is loading heavy motorcycles into the bed of pickup trucks and the most enjoyable part of my job is working with customers and building relationships. I enjoy driving the truck around the metroplex and picking up different types of bikes to bring in for service.
I enjoy what I am doing, but I have currently been passed up for new positions at the parts counter, service department, and sales. I would like to better my experience and pay with a company that honors their word and enjoys watching people grow and mature through learning and training. – less

assembly
Assembler (Current Employee), York, PA – May 21, 2012
Pros: just ot
Cons: no insurance, hard to plan things outside work
The actual job is very fast paced. The work is fun. Upper management and HR have no idea what everyone thinks about the company. They constantly use all of the employees to a point where it is totally sickining to the stomach. They offer no benefits to the casual workforce and penalize you for having a life outside of Harley.
The company will end up – more... closing in the near future. – less
