Hastings Entertainment, Inc. (Hastings) is a multimedia entertainment retailer. The Company operates entertainment superstores that buy, sell, trade and rent various home entertainment products, including books, music, software, periodicals, new and used compact discs (CDs), digital versatile discs (DVDs), video games, video game consoles and electronics, – more... as well as consumables and trends products, such as apparel, t-shirts, action figures, posters, greeting cards, and seasonal merchandise. As of March 31, 2009, the Company operated 153 stores in medium-sized markets located in 21 states, primarily in the Western and Midwestern United States. It also operates a multimedia entertainment e-commerce Website offering a selection of books, software, video games, DVDs and music. The Company has one wholly owned subsidiary, Hastings Internet, Inc. During the fiscal year ended January 31, 2009 (fiscal 2008), the Company dissolved one of its wholly owned subsidiary, Hastings Properties, Inc.
