juvenile company culture, unhealthy work environment
Analyst (Current Employee) –  Carlsbad, CAAugust 9, 2017
If you behave professionally and care about your work this isn't the place for you. Poor communication and very little cooperation between departments, horrible communication from the c-suite. Verbal abuse from managers is tolerated and many people are unprofessional. High employee turnover but what's really weird is when someone leaves -- quits, laid-off, fired, whatever -- no one mentions it, no announcements no matter who it was, just another empty desk. Hardly any room for job growth, promotions and job assignments are due to favoritism and not performance, and performance reviews are not tied to salary increases. Blame rolls downhill, management never takes responsibility, it's always the workers' fault. Even really important presentations and other projects are done at the last minute. Senior management is out of touch and arrogant and petty. Hours are 8 to 5 for everyone, even for people who do most of their work with other people on the East Coast and would really benefit from coming in earlier. It feels more like middle school than a real business.
Pros
a paycheck, Friday donuts if you like donuts
Cons
too many to list

Data Operations Coordinator (Current Employee) –  Carlsbad, CAJanuary 29, 2017
Great place to work if you love to work in a fast paced work environment while being surrounded by great down to earth people. Downside is transparency and communication across departments needs to be improved.

Media Buyer Assistant (Former Employee) –  Carlsbad, CAJanuary 16, 2015
Each day had its own set of priorities but all of them started with email. The beginning of the day was requesting logs from each Television station via email, followed by entering the log times as they were received, and then a mix of several in-between detailed tasks throughout the day to ensure efficiency. Management was very approachable and helpful. Co-workers were friendly and the most willing-to-help team I have ever been a part of. The hardest part of the job was learning the industry and all that goes along with it such as what is a priority versus non-priority. The most enjoyable part of this position was learning the ins and out of how much goes into placing commercials on televised stations. My co-workers also made it easy to enjoy going to work every day.
Pros
Health Care Benefits
Cons
Not a whole lot of face-to-face interaction

Account Executive Assistant (Former Employee) –  Carlsbad, CAMay 12, 2014
A typical day at Havas Edge consisted of detailed account monitoring and client interfacing. I learned much in the DRTV industry and more importantly, how to deliver client satisfaction on a daily basis. Management of our department ran like a well oiled machine however, in doing so, the environment was always high intensity and fast-paced. The high standard of excellence was the most difficult part of the job but also the most rewarding.

It was a pleasure working with the employees at the company. With a younger demographic working there, the day to day hard work become much more enjoyable.

Summary - Havas Edge
Strategic Planner (Current Employee) –  Los Angeles, CAMarch 9, 2014
An average agency. The atmosphere is enjoyable, but there are structural problems with management, processes and conflicting priorities that make its work product less impressive than it could be.

Freelance Payroll/HR Generalist (Former Employee) –  Carlsbad, CAFebruary 11, 2014
I enjoyed the casual but intensely creative environment. This job allowed me to enrich my Human Resource career to include payroll processing. The most difficult part was the lack of growth opportunities available within the HR department. I learned a great deal and enjoyed my time with Havas.
Pros
Casual
Cons
Lack of growth opportunity

Assistant to the Media Director (Former Employee) –  Carlsbad, CAJanuary 7, 2014
If I wasn't emailing or calling stations or clients I was working with Excel.
A typical work day would include equal parts analysis, reporting, and problem solving.
