Going the way of the dinosaur
Customer Service (Current Employee) –  Honolulu, HIApril 13, 2016
Making changes is like turning the Titanic.
Departments are highly territorial and must be forced to collaborate.
There is very little opportunity for internal advancement.
There are no incentives to think outside the box.
I enjoy my coworkers, but the lack of opportunity sucks any life out of the job.
Pros
Big company, long history in Hawaii
Cons
Entrenched in old way of doing business, lack of opportunities to advance

Corporate Utility
Administrator (Former Employee) –  Honolulu, HIMarch 31, 2015
I sat at a desk and tried to get people approved to install solar. I fought against red tape, poor management, and lacking procedural information daily in order to do my job. The sexist atmosphere meant that women were at all times to act a certain way, and the few that slipped into management dished out the worst treatment to other women. My coworkers were the reason why I kept working there as long as I did. We were all in the same boat together. I loved when I could explain things to customers and contractors to help make sense of the requirements so they could get approved. I had an ocean view from my cubicle. I learned so much about how corporations twist the truth to come out on top.
Pros
Ocean view
Cons
Extremely low pay and poor benefits
