I would go back to work for them in a heartbeat
Architectural CAD Technician II (Former Employee), Saint Paul, MN –
Pros: great place to work and good people to work with.
Cons: no easy parking--all pay lots or parking garages.
I worked at HDR for 4 years +/-. I thoroughly enjoyed the workplace, my co-workers, and the work that I did. A change in management brought a more even-handed management of the firm and the workload. There were a couple of people (as there always are) that made the job harder than it needed to be and learning to deal with negative personalities is always – more...  a hard part of the job. But I think that every workplace has one or two people who are like that. I loved the work I did there--absolutely loved the work and they were great about providing you with what you needed to get the job done. – less

Big Company Mentality. Hard workers are not promoted just taken advantage of.

Large company, many types of positions throughout
Project Engineer (Former Employee), The Carolinas –
Pros: large company, good benefits
Cons: middle management, poor training programs and poor mentorships
Poorly managed at Middle management level. Managers tend to follow the leadership of the main company office, setting agendas and goals based on an inflexible business strategies that are inconsistent with the local markets. The architecture and engineering components of the company compete within the company and present more problems then solutions.
