Health Dialog Services wants to open the lines of communication between consumers and providers in the US and the UK. The company provides health management coaching to patients and families. It also offers analytic services through its Health Dialog Analytic Solutions, which enable health plans, provider groups, government programs, and large employers to find and eliminate inefficiencies in their offerings while still providing quality care. Analytic solutions include patient profiling, opportunity analysis, predictive modeling, and provider performance. British private health insurer BUPA owns Health Dialog Services.
The company is also heavily involved in research, with links to The Dartmouth Institute and the Foundation for Informed Medical Decision Making. Health Dialog Services conducts some 200 trials annually researching a range of topics including coaching techniques, how to improve health care practices, and ways to reduce medical costs.
Amid the uncertainties surrounding how new health reforms will impact businesses, Health Dialog reported a loss of customers that impacted its 2011 performance. In an effort to offset those losses, the company closed three coaching centers. It also expanded its operations to include a line dedicated to helping healthcare providers manage patient communication and interaction. – less
