RN, Cape Canaveral, FL - December 7, 2017
A typical day was pretty busy, starting with receiving report from the previous nurse. We processed new admissions as they came in from the ED. We established baselines on current patients and provided thorough assessments on them. Administering medications that were scheduled or as needed, along with prepping patients for ultra sounds/CT's/CAT scans, and surgical procedures. This is a job where you never stop learning, each patient is individualized in their care. Management was ok, but they are new and need more exposure to the floor. Hardest part of the job is time management and juggling more challenging patients. The most enjoyable part of the job is the comradery and team work on the floor with the staffing. We all worked really well together and had each others' backs.
