If you enjoy abuse and lack of support from management, then this is the place for you!
Operations Supervisor (Former Employee) –  Tampa, FLJanuary 20, 2018
Be prepared to see your employees and co-workers crying from frustration due to too many competing priorities and the sand-bagging mentality that goes on here. The worse part of working here is the abusive behavior demonstrated by senior management. No coaching, no feedback and no encouragement. Don't expect any help from HR as well. During the hurricane, there was no concern for safety and you were made to feel guilty for evacuating for your safety. The unprofessional company-wide email that HR sent out during the hurricane was a nasty tone of "please do not discuss the hurricane as it's disruptive to work" There was no thought nor any professional tone and it's very clear this company does not truly care about employees. We were bought out by EXL, but as long as the current leadership is in place, the bullying mentality will continue. The only positive aspect of working here is the free coffee and there are a lot of genuine people who are not in management who truly care about their jobs, but don't get attached to them as they will walk out or get walked out. There is a better life at other companies where management truly cares about developing and seeing their employees succeed, I'm so glad I don't work here anymore!
Pros
Co-workers, free coffee
Cons
Management, work environment

Intake Coordinator (Current Employee) –  Tampa, FLJanuary 9, 2018
HI is poorly managed and has high turnover rate due to its middle management being unprofessional and uneducated.
It pays the bills but it is not a place for career advancement.
Pros
Pay is fair for the work
Cons
Not enough perks... and hellish bathrooms

Engagement Specialist (Former Employee) –  Tampa, FLJanuary 4, 2018
To be fair, I was a call representative which unfortunately got the call center atmosphere. Its very fast paced, unrealistic goals, no compensation towards sales, no pay differential for Spanish speakers.

There's a reason they were bought out
UM Intake / Intake Coordinator / IT (Former Employee) –  Tampa, FLDecember 28, 2017
A typical day at work:
You are told to handle multiple client calls from varying states with little to no training. You are micromanaged excessively to achieve the poor requirements of each of the clients you are handling. The sales team sets up clients with very bad contracts which limits the company on the ability to hire the staff actually needed to effectively handle the workflow coming in from each client. The clients are given access to all the system resources and feels like big brother is watching your every move. Clients are allowed to make changes to the workflow process on a whim and which seems to never take into account what the issues actually are which leads to making changes that only make things harder for the representative attempting to do the job. At the end of the day the agent is mentally and physically drained and have nothing more to look forward to than another day of the same thing and the supervisor coming down on the team as if it is their fault that contract was written so bad and that the agents are held to unrealistic standards.

What you learned:
I learned not to let my guard down. To always watch my back. Track and log everything. Keep all email communications and trust no one.

Management:
This is a joke. Friends and relatives acquire the positions of management without even having the skills to be a leader or know how to properly manage a team. I strongly feel that an immediate managers job is to help guide their team to achieve higher goals. Provide them will all performance feedback. Share with them their strengths and weaknesses.
more... Recognize the strong skills that are within each team member and use them effectively for the betterment of the team. None of these qualities even remotely play out in the management; or lack thereof, within the center. Since all are either friends or relatives, reporting a manager to HR for slacking on their own job performance only results in retaliatory behavior and the practices of that manager remain unchanged.

Workplace Culture:
Your fellow agents try to be personable and friendly, But comradery is squashed pretty quickly and the wouldbe friend ends up being your worst enemy. Instead of being able to lean on each other for assistance and support to get the job done, It ends up being everyone for themselves.

The Hardest Part of the Job:
The hardest part of the job is dealing with the lack of staff and a mountain of work that you will never be able to surmount. It seems like a never ending battle to complete a task and even if you are able to catch up, there is no praise, only the expectation to constantly repeat the outcome. Only, you know you won't be able to do so and the moment you fail to do so, you are reprimanded and treated as though you are not performing adequately..

The most enjoyable part of the job:
If there is any redeeming quality at all, it might very well be that once every so often caller who is pleasant and understanding and is a joy to speak to on the phone.
  less
Pros
The immediate peers are pleasant and thoughtful.
Cons
Extremely poor management, Treated as a number and not a professional, They quote company policy but fail to live up to the policies themselves, Promote friends and relatives, fail to see the potential or recognize the skills of their associates, Seek to penalize you for situations beyond your control.

Senior DBA (Former Employee) –  Tampa, FLSeptember 13, 2017

Top managements don't keep their words, and always turn the blames.

Managers don't know what they're doing.

When the work contracts were there, you had a job, when contracts were terminated by insurance plans, staff were terminated. Staff was always playing catch-up with work and metrics were what was all important.

I work per diem and do not have enough experience to assess. I get paid per case and can choose how much I want to work. That has been fantastic with this being a secondary job.

Run!
Clinical Manager (Former Employee) –  Tampa, FLJune 14, 2017
This place is in continuous turmoil, with a revolving door of "leaders", always touting "servant Leadership" but serving only themselves.

Nursing leaders are weak, and do NOT coach or support their very hard working teams.

Unqualified "managers" are in place, such as an inexperienced LPN in a senior manager role. That is NOT industry standard.

Lack of professional audit and compliance monitoring cost contracts and jobs.

Look elsewhere for a good job. Free coffee isn't enough.
Pros
Free coffee
Cons
Weak and poorly qualified leaders

Behavioral UM Clinician (Current Employee) –  RemoteJune 12, 2017
I left a secure FT job with good benefits to come to HI. I ignored the reviews, and boy do I regret doing so! There was a mass exodus of good management. The new management team is extremely incompetent. Nurses are forced to work cases without adequate training. They are extremely unorganized and lack the skills and knowledge necessary to perform the services they are contracted to provide. As a result. The companies are not renewing contracts. They do not care about their staff. Policies are created and/or changed daily, on the fly. There is absolutely NO support from management or HR. Nurses are the heart and soul of this company, yet they treat them like trash. No raises or bonuses. For Nurses week, remote nurses received a Starbucks gift card that was supposed to have $5. It only had $4! If you need a good paycheck for a short period of time, this is your place. If you're seeking stability and overall job security, RUN FAST!!!!
Pros
Great Pay; Remote work
Cons
Uncaring, unorganized, incompetent, unstable, high turnover, inadequate training

Utilization Review Nurse (Former Employee) –  Tampa, FLApril 19, 2017
I enjoyed working at Health Integrated. It was a refreshing change from the hospital environment. I enjoyed work with the many people I spoke to on the phone. I worked my shift and was done for the day. Management was going through a change at the time. I have actually went back to their website to apply for a permanent position. The hardest part of the job is sometimes having to wait for an answer to questions. Overall the job was great!
Pros
freedom to work from home
Cons
Did not hire after contract was up
