Ambassador Program
Health Republic Insurance of New York (HRINY) is seeking outgoing, team-oriented ambassadors to join its field team. The ambassadors are Certified Application Counselors who will be required to provide the public with information about all Qualified Health Plans. The program is geared towards strengthening HRINY’s presence in local communities, educating and advising individuals on the different health insurance plans, and assisting them in enrolling with a health insurance company, including HRINY. Ambassadors will have an outreach engagement goal. Ambassadors must successfully complete the certified application specialist training provided by the NY Health Benefit Exchange prior to start date. This is a temporary at-will position; the cohort will work from October 2013 to March 2014. Ambassadors will report to the Regional Outreach Managers.

You will work in the field within your local community to organize and engage residents around the federal and state health care reform, New York Health Benefit Exchange, and HRINY in particular. You will be responsible for the following:
 Identify and engage uninsured individuals
 Educate and advise uninsured individuals on their options and assist people in enrolling in health insurance
 Generate leads and meet monthly engagement goal based on contract type
 Conduct outreach around county-specific campaigns
 Network and build relationships with community-based organizations to foster support for HRINY
 Coordinate meet-ups and other outreach events in local communities
 Manage and distribute health and wellness materials
 Act as a liaison between HRINY and the local community

Through the six- month program, ambassadors will receive full training to assist HRINY achieve the following:

 Business Objectives:

- Generate prospect leads and meet engagement goal
- Find locations where we have the potential for workshop opportunities
- Reach multicultural communities and affinity groups

 Branding Objective: Bring Health Republic Insurance of New York’s goals and mission to life

 Highly motivated to improve and serve local communities
 Commitment to organizing people to achieve change
 Commitment to fairness and equity
 Ability to work in a team environment to meet deadlines and accomplish common goals
 Experience in community organizing events on a strong plus
 Ability to communicate clearly and make group presentations
 Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
 Comfortable working in out-of-office settings
 Must be able to commit at least 8 hours per week
 Bilingual a plus

efficiently and passionately explain one’s work

Possible Position Type
 Ambassador with limited time requirement
Ambassadors working in this position are expected to work 8 hours per week.
 Ambassador with extensive time requirement
In this position, ambassadors will work 40 hours per week.

Commensurate with experience.

 Limited time: 8 hours/week
 Extensive time: 40 hours/week

Duration: October 2013 to March 2014
