Medical Assistant in Dermatology Department (Former Employee), Pasadena, CAMarch 30, 2014
Pros: free lunches from drug reps.
Cons: insurence coverage and short breaks.
Working at HCP was a never ending learning facility. They have a primary care, pediatrics and dermatology department. Although, you could only work in the department you were hired to work in, you could stil learn from other nurses. They would take the time to explain what they were doing at the time. The doctors there were very nice and caring.

Open enrollment is tough, a lot at one time. But plenty of overtime for about three months. A very busy office, the work is pretty much the same day in and day out.

Diverse Company that takes pride in the art of patient care.
Medical Assistant (Current Employee), Los Angeles, CANovember 25, 2013
Working for Healthcare Partners has been a wonderful experience. A typical work day for a Medical Assistant includes, taking vital signs, assisting the physician or nurse with any task, scheduling appointments, just to name a few things. I have learned that as a Medical Assistant alot is expected of you, and you can be the reason why someones day is – more... a little better. The hardest part of the job is being on your feet all day at times. The most enjoyable part of the job is knowing that you spent your day helping people, even if it was in a small way. – less

Medium to fast past environment
Medical Assistant (Current Employee), Bellflower, CAJuly 9, 2013
Pros: friendly work environment
Cons: no benefits, pto
A typical day at work is usually a medium to fast pace environment with a schedule of between 16 to 21 patients a day. The doctors are very compassionate about their patients so whatever is required for the patient to have is then ordered by the doctor and performed by me. This includes scheduling Mammograms, Bone Densisty Test, Colonoscopy, and surguries – more... at sister Hospitals also whatever in house test such as UA dips, ABI, blood draws, and injections. The work environment is usually optimistic and LVN supervisors are eager to jump and help when needed. Healthcare Partners was voted #1 place to work in 2012. – less

Helped to learn more about the medical field.
TSU - Medical Receptionist (Former Employee), Los Angeles, CAApril 4, 2012
Pros: professional, but comfortable environment, great experience overall.
Cons: no benefits for tsu members.
Seeing as I am currently studying to receive my Bachelor's of Science in Psychological and Brain Sciences, I wanted to experience the medical field for myself. Though I only worked at HCP over the summer, it was an amazing experience, and was unfortunate that I had to leave to return to Dartmouth. I would not hesitate working there again if I had the – more... chance. – less
