Occupational Therapy Assistant, Toledo, OH - September 23, 2017
Working at heartland has been a joy due to the great efforts of the staff being able to work together for the benefit of its patients. The great minds and creative environment allows us to give our patients the best therapeutic experiences possible. Days usually average anywhere from 10-14 (roughly) patients, with varying goals among them all. The population tends to be that of a geriatric setting but ages range from mid 20's to late 90's. Being flexible is important as each day is different then the last. The hardest part of the job is trying to adopt new requirements from corporate that are being instilled to the staff whom already have full caseloads, documentation, and various other documenting responsibilities that work against the therapy staffs productivity while maintaining appointment times to the best of their abilities. The most enjoyable part of the job is the end result of seeing and working with the patients. Being able to help people meet their goals and improve their quality of life is the most beneficial aspect of this profession.
