We're looking for a focused, creative pastry chef that can work independently making scratch desserts and cakes. We specialize in wedding cakes and custom cakes. We work in a catering Hall and are responsible for their desserts also. Responsibilities include, baking cakes, buttercream production, stacking cakes, icing cakes, french macarons, tarts, various mini dessert production for catering, scaling of recipes, lifting of large bags of ingredients unassisted, cleaning and organizing of refrigerator and freezer, taking stock, and cleaning of station, utensils and equipment. You may also have an intern to help assist in your duties. You must be neat and organized. You must be able to stand on you feet for long hours. No texting during work hours. Must have a degree in pastry or equivalent work experience. We can train you in our techniques. You do not need to have experience making tiered cakes or fondant, but it is a plus. This is NOT a decorator's position, but some minor decorating will be involved to help assist.
This is an hourly position. M-F, 9-6:30 pm, in general, when busy. Part-Time also available. No major holidays. Some weeks you may be required to work up to 50 hours and some may be 30 hours.
