I'm a independent distributor for Herbalife products so my day can change at anytime because i have to seek out potential customers and convince them into buying my product. Some people are harder to convince than others.Once i have delivered my salesman pitch,it's now up to the customer to decide yes or no about getting the products.I have a 24/7 consultant – more... team that helps me or the customer with ant question they or i might have.Sometime it can be hard to convince someone to buy your products.I enjoy having my own business. – less

Customer Service (Former Employee), Sarasota,FlSeptember 24, 2014
Pros: tasted the new products
Cons: no overtime, straight pay.
Taking orders, remembering exactly what the customer ordered and how they wanted their shake prepared. Use of money exchange. Also, the merchandise had to be unpacked and available for distribution to customers in a timely manner. Maintenance and upkeep was also a very important factor to customer service. The hardest part of the job is get a customer's – more... order wrong. The most enjoyable part of the job is meeting people. – less

World Team Manager (Current Employee), SacramentoSeptember 23, 2014
Pros: make my own schedule, work as much as i want
Cons: need to be super self-motivating
Herbalife is my own business that I run from home. I do most of my marketing through social media and highlighting success stories in a networking setting. I have a team I manage and train to sell and make money for themselves. The best part about working for this company is that I get to help people get healthy, and also am able to provide business – more... opportunities in selling a product line that benefits the health of others. – less

Herbalife Distributer/ Health Coach (Former Employee), Auburn, CAJuly 28, 2014
Pros: opportunity to help family and friends become healthier, encouraged me to be healthy
Cons: business was constantly up and down
A typical days work was contacting my clients who came to me for their goals to be healthier. I learned good nutrition and patience. I managed an 8 week body challenge and led simple workouts every Wednesday and Sunday. My co workers were all nice and enjoyed fitness and nutrition. Hardest part of the job was keeping a client consistent. Most enjoyable – more... part of the job was seeing the results on my clients and seeing their confidence grow. – less

World Team Member/Self-Employed (Current Employee), San Antonio, TXJuly 28, 2014
Pros: amazing opportunity.
Cons: commission based employment
Using different marketing tools to locate new leads and potential clients. Setting up meetings to sit down and discount products and opportunities. Closing the sale and exchanging information for timely follow ups with the customer. I learned a lot about nutrition the does and don'ts for your health. Also more experience dealing with customers and their – more... demands and needs. I experienced team leading and showing by example. My team is a great and willing to learn and taking the opportunity to advance in these areas as well. The hardest part of the job is consistently finding new leads and helping them make the commitment. I enjoyed seeing results not only from myself, friends, and family, but from clients and hearing their transformation stories. – less

Fun work environment
Health and Wellness Coach (Current Employee), Newport, RIJuly 19, 2014
Herbalife placed a strong emphasis on being your own boss. This made it easy to meet with clients around my personal schedule. The compensation plan is a commission based program that pays well if you are able to get clients. There is no set way of gaining clients but they do suggest some daily methods of operation to perform in order to grow a stronger – more... client base. Though I performed the daily methods of operation, I was unable to gain enough clients for this position to be sustainable in the long term. The other health coaches are mostly wonderful people. Herbalife provides lots of company training. – less

Fun, rewarding, extremely Flexible
Independent Distributor (Current Employee), Job is where I'm atJune 25, 2014
Pros: very flexible, high job satisfaction
Work at home job, income is based on effort. With minimal effort, can see great returns, not necessarily in monetary gains, but personal health as well as for others. Is a health and wellness company, so part of the reward DOES depend on where you hold helping others. Fantastic company, excellent opportunity for advancement as well as multiple methods – more... of income and reward. Opportunity to lead and train others, as well as join a community with your interests in mind. Downside is the "management" isn't guaranteed to be stellar. Various from person to person. The upside to that is the company itself provides multiple methods of self training, both free and paid events. – less

Convenient by working based on your own schedule and time
Distributor/Wellness Coach (Current Employee), Stockton, CAMay 20, 2014
Pros: independent, work at your own pace, fun, healthy, active, communication skills, and interpersonal skills
Cons: competitive, expensive, not an hourly wage, sometimes no income is made for a month or so
Working as an independent distributor is not as easy as it may seem. Everything is based around your own schedule and time; however, recruiting members and clients is very competitive. I have ran into many who are already a part of Herbalife and many who are not even interested. Distributors are taught certain key factors on how to approach potential – more... clients and how to follow through with a sale in the most positive, honest, and convincing way.

As an independent distributor, every day is a learning process and it becomes up to the distributor, like myself, to use the talent, passion, and professionalism into every sale and appointment made with each client.

We also have the opportunity to not only make sales but to voluntarily instruct fitness classes for the public. This is also a great way to expose the business and to consistently keep and/or grow more clients. – less
