Information Center Agent (Current Employee) – Newburgh, IN – April 18, 2017
Learned a lot, great place to work. Looking for something different and part time so I can continue with my passion of coaching soccer. Very fun place to work, very relaxed place, but very professional
Support Staff (Current Employee) – Newburgh, IN – October 4, 2016
The financial world is a challenging career, but the management team seem to try very hard to make the work environment pleasant and promote fun days. Excellent benefits, especially the 401k. I see a lot of internal promotions.
Teller - Member Services (Former Employee) – Newburgh, IN – July 2, 2016
This company doesn't care about their employees. They used to somewhat care about the members; however, everything now is only about sales and their numbers. The managers and supervisors are terrible and have no business being in management positions. People working here are untrustworthy, two-faced, and tend to over involve themselves in your life. Communication was horrible between employees. No one seemed to have a solid understanding of policies and procedures. There was no room for advancement. Overall it was not rewarding and didn't gain anything from working with this company. The only positive aspects were some of the benefits and the occasional small bonuses.
Member Services (Current Employee) – Evansville, IN – June 22, 2016
This company cares about their employees and their members. They make sure that the workplace is a nice and good place to work. All the branch managers are the right people for the job, as well as all of the supervisors.
Mortgage (Former Employee) – Newburgh – January 7, 2014
HFCU is a great place to work in general. However an increasing number of experienced staff in multiple departments have choose to leave. This is the result of the Senior staff making promises to staff and then not coming thru with them. Typical week was 40+ hours. Staff at the entry level (tellers; new accounts) appear to be happy however oftentimes are not promoted within.
Loved helping customers with excepional service, so they left very happy with their decision to use our company!
Mortgage Processor (Former Employee) – Newburgh, IN – September 25, 2013
Most enjoyable, Helping Customers with information and helping them achieve there dreams of homeownership or saving disposable income from refinancing! Learned how to meet deadlines and rate locks expiring but I always completed on time or early! Hardest part of the job,Busy from start to finish, multi tasking all day!
Excellent company culture, superior member service, and team environment
E-SERVICES MANAGER (Former Employee) – Newburgh, IN – August 8, 2013
As the E-Services Manager, a typical day included providing support to internal departments including the branch network. My team answered questions, provided troubleshooting support and worked directly with members to ensure superior service was provided with each transaction. The E-Services team was a highly visible department. More than 86% of all transactions that flowed through the credit union were a result of a product or service of which we had responsibility.
Anonymous (Former Employee) – Newburgh, IN – March 28, 2013
A typical day involves creating efficiencies and member service Management likes to promote from within but some of the promotions are strange (accountants without accounting degrees) Management is very involved and cares but some can be a little too hands on (can be good or bad depending on your position) Most co-workers are pleasant and easy to get along with; bad apples weed themselves out Hardest part of the job is staying motivated, banking is not a rewarding career The most enjoyable part is the advancement potential for upper management if you have an advanced degree (more than undergrad)
bonuses; incentive pay; total compensation; management that cares
banking is not a rewarding career despite any incentives; boring; strange promotions
