Assistant Manager (Current Employee), Tewksbury, MAMarch 4, 2013
Pros: friendly customers.
Cons: when a customer is not satisfied.
Order stock for the shelves and cooler, Help customers find what they need, paperwork and previous days totals in the computer. I have learned very good customer service skills. The hardest part of the job is telling a customer we do not carry an item. The most enjoyable part of the day is to see customers that come in all the time and have a conversation – more... with them and see how they are doing. – less

Big company name but comes with a small Mom & Pop operated vibe.
IS Service Delivery Technician Analyst (Former Employee), Woodbridge, NJMarch 4, 2013
Pros: multi-faceted position/responsibilities; generous compensation/benefits/vacation package
Cons: lack of upward mobility. lack of work.
I worked with approximately 18 other persons on a team that supported over 860 retail sites on a 24/7 basis. Besides providing daily tech support via phone and remote access software, we also conducted root case analysis of our work tickets generated in the month prior, maintained a knowledge tree, and conducted on field tech visits to our locations – more... when deemed necessary. This was only a part of our daily responsibilities. – less

Fun place to work if you have the right attitude.
Sales associate (Current Employee), Rotterdam, NYFebruary 19, 2013
Pros: the customers
Cons: no real heathcare plan
Hess is your standard hourly customer service job. You come in, punch in, take care of customers' needs and try to keep the store neat, clean and stocked. Some co-workers you will wonder if they did anything at all and other times you can tell who worked just by what was done. The hardest part of the whole job is keeping a cool head when attitudes, – more... from customers and co-workers, show up. The more enjoyable part is when the attitudes are not around, customers are either in a good mood or just plain entertaining. Everyday is something new, you never know who will come through the door next. – less

Hess - Marching to the beat of its own drum, but trying to join the band
Specialist (Current Employee), Houston, TxDecember 10, 2012
Pros: fabulous facilities (houston), great coworkers
Cons: less generous benefits than other e&p orgs, current high rates of attrition
Hess provides an environment full of opportunity for those willing to manage through the current hurdles/unrest related to the strategic drive to grow the company from a small player to a world class explorer. For those that are not petro-techs, there is a caste system in Hess where non petro-techs are treated as second class citizens which can cause – more... angst amongst the troops. If you are ready to watch, learn and try to negotiate a share of interesting opportunities there isn't any shortage, but be prepared to politic to get there! – less

Great Place To Work!!! Meet lots of people!!!
Assistant Manager (Former Employee), Chambersburg PaNovember 24, 2012
Pros: customer relations, job advancement
Cons: not to many holidays or weekends off at first, poor outside management and poor company policies
I worked for this company for almost five years. Started out Sales Associate to Sr Sales to Asst. Manager.Once I became Asst. is when it went down hill, did most of the other employee's work and had to work when ever they needed me, which I did. Never missed one day of work while employed for them. Was terminated for not attending a not mandatory Asst. – more... Manager's meeting in Harrisburg. I was heart broken to lose such a decent job because of poor recognition of all my hard work for Hess!! I miss my Manager and fellow employees as well as my customers everyday!! – less
