Pros: great pay, only 3 days a week, no on-call in my dept.
Cons: inconsistent management, closed-minded, reduction in staffing
I worked at this hospital for almost ten years; actually, it was 8 days shy of 10 years when I was called in and fired while I was on bereavement for the death of my grandmother.
It became much more fast-paced every time an employee or a whole unit of employees was laid off.
With the exception of 2 of my almost 30 other co-workers, I could trust no
– more... one. That was the hardest part of the job. The most enjoyable part is a toss up; it was either my days off or it was payday.
We were constantly told how far into the red the hospital was, yet "they" continued to remodel units. – less
