Amazing Place Before They Lowered Guarenteed Salary
Regional Tanker Driver/Trainer (Former Employee) – Croydon, PA – May 4, 2017
This company was definitely one of the best companies I've ever worked for. From 2015 to 2016, the management, dispatcher, and atmosphere were very pleasant. Everything changed when they suddenly and unexpectedly lowered the guaranteed pay and took all of our sick days. The replaced the management with a clown that resembles the clown from IT (Pennywise). If this did not occur, I would have stayed and eventually retired from this company in forty years. Regardless, this company was great before they changed the salary.
Manager (Current Employee) – Knoxville, TN – April 27, 2017
I started with Highway Transport 25 plus years ago sweeping floors and mowing grass for them I have since been promoted several times over the years an have done numerous jobs with this company your not just a employee you are rewarded for your hard work they do promote within the company when the see potential an hard work the management there is great always willing to teach an support you. Highway Transport is a great company to work for it's my 2nd family is the best way to describe it I still get exited every morning to go to work.
Driver (Current Employee) – Chattanooga, TN – April 24, 2017
Good pay on orientation. Good motel. Feed you well during orientation. Very informative. I'm a system driver and have been doing well with my miles. Good people to work with. They will do everything they can to get you home when you need to be. The Guarantee pay is good but most of the time you will make more than the guarantee. Usually 1-2 yrs old if not new equipment for system drivers.
Employee (Current Employee) – Knoxville, TN – March 13, 2017
Highway Transport Logistics is a great place to work. They have flexible work schedules and work that offers just the right amount of challenges. They like to promote from within when possible. Employees tend to stay with the company for long periods of time.
Terminal Manager (Former Employee) – La Porte, TX – January 12, 2017
This company is a good company in terms of chemical movement but sometimes forgets it is a people business using trucks. Management from the very top is sound, upper management is good, but the middle management is too compressed. Being a small company lends itself to placing more duties on middle management than is possible to balance family life and work life.
Terminal Mgr (Former Employee) – Croydon, PA – April 30, 2016
Does not accept new/different ideas. Driver shortage has been projected shortcoming in excess of 6 years. Response has been too late to both gain and retain good Drivers. Company does not provide detailed training material. Training on key s/ware is ad-hoc and not consistent. Always wants to expand but cannot maintain the Drivers necessary to meet Customers expectations.
Professional driver (Current Employee) – Florence, KY – February 17, 2015
Wonderful group of people from all walks of life and they all treat you like you matter. they have a guarantee pay benefit going on right now which helps when it gets slow. training is top notch. the equipment is well kept and they focus on safety for real. a good place to make a career. regional drivers are home multiple times per week and no slip seating. the best thing they give you is respect as a driver. they don't micro manage your driving or routes but they are always a phone call away when you need them.
Communications specialist (Former Employee) – Knoxville – December 20, 2014
I experienced a very hostile work environment. Reported (s) harassment and was given the option to resign or be terminated 2.5 weeks after I reported (s) harassment. Corporate HR is an uninformed joke helmed by a woman with NO formal HR training. Just Sociology from 1980. I produced results, but the president caved to an HR woman in Florida. I was actually asked by Corp HR if I thought the comment made to me was (s) harassment. After they called 3 employees in and asked them if THEY thought it was (s) harassment. So much for confidential and ZERO TOLERANCE for (s) harassment. I loved my job, I would work well beyond 9-5, and would go to the terminal to get video that could only be gotten at night. I was dedicated.
Tank driver (Current Employee) – Knoxville, Tn – October 29, 2013
This company has lost a lot of their contracts and they let their drivers sit days at a time. They lose drivers everyday due to no work and still continue to hire new people knowing they will not run them! Stay away from this company!
driver (Former Employee) – laporte – April 7, 2013
Worked here for 3 months to long. Constant equipment problems, would put you in other drivers trucks for overnight hauls.Pay was horrible. If you are trying to do even jus a little bit better than average this is not the place. You will be digging a bigger hole for yourself if you are trying to get out of one.
