In 2001, Hillwood formed an advisory committee comprised of leaders from Washington's GLBT community-including the Mayor's Office on GLBT Affairs-to create and maintain a welcoming environment for members of this community. The committee, which meets with Hillwood staff regularly, advises and supports Hillwood on annual outreach efforts through public programming, marketing, and community partnerships.
During these ten years, Hillwood has strived to serve the full diversity of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community and can proudly say that today we offer family and youth programming, Gay Day, outdoor film classics, and concerts. As always, the estate continues to be a venue for social discussion for local GLBT organizations. We are actively involved in Black Pride and Capital Pride, and enjoy healthy relationships with other organizations including One in Ten, Rainbow Families, Ganymede Arts, the Lesbian & Gay Chorus of Washington DC, Gay Men's Chorus of Washington DC, Straight Eights Region of the Lambda Car Club, DC Lambda Squares, and DC's Different Drummers.
All of this is possible thanks to the support of our Board of Trustees and our committed Advisory Committee members. A special thanks goes to those businesses who have given us significant support, thus allowing us to expand our program offerings. – less – More from ZoomInfo »
