Guest Service Agent (Current Employee), Ashburn, VA – August 7, 2013
Pros: wonderful and helpful co-workers
Cons: wish the pay was more.
Every day has different challenges. I enjoy showing guests how to take advantage of our location to have the best stay as well as how to best use our amenities. Some guests can be overly-demanding or aggressive, but for the most part, the guests are great!
house keeping (Current Employee), Milwaukee, WI – August 10, 2014
Pros: free lunch, can get over time
Cons: it begin a temp job
as I start my day at the Hilton I would clock in. After I clock in, I would then take the elevator up to the third floor. Upon getting off the elevator, I would find my Kate and help her to stock our cart. after we stock our carts we then travel around to our rooms and see if anyone is ready to check out. if anyone is ready to check out, Kate will open – more... their doors with her key so that I can begin the stripping process. after I finish stripping I get to about six room with cleaning and making beds and its lunch time. after lunch I continue to do the same thing make beds and clean room until our list is complete. 8am-5pm – less
Housekeeping (Former Employee), Chicago, IL – August 8, 2014
Pros: great workers appreciation parties
Cons: management could have been a little tighter
Would get 16 to 20 rooms a day to tear down and re-do. Hotel very articulate on the way they want things done. But, that being said; would not always have the things needed to complete the rooms from time to time, which made the day longer. Would end up having to go back to rooms twice to complete job. Management was okay but lacked a little as far – more... as pushing certain departments in order to make sure things ran smoother and sometimes was hard to get a hold of. I loved my co-workers, they made the day go by easier. The hardest part of the job.....waiting on materials(sheets,duvets,etc....) The most enjoyable part of the day......Punching out. – less

The Hilton is a great company to work for. The company encourages career building as they promote from within. A typical day started with a morning meeting, prospecting, outside sales calls, site tours of the property, responding to RFP's, negotiating contracts, etc. The hardest part of the job was not being able to accommodate program requirements – more... due to rate restrictions / space unavailabilty. The most enjoyable part was excedding goals and achieving client satisfaction and loyalty. – less

Front Desk Clerk/ Server (Current Employee), Elkhart, IN – July 31, 2014
A typical day at the Hilton Garden Inn in Elkhart Indiana is a fast paced non-stop kind of day. Phone calls every 5-20 min, up to 85 check ins a day. My co-workers get along with me very well. If I am not working, they will call me on my personal phone to ask for advice on how to do certain tasks. The hardest part about my job is trying not to let rude – more... guests get under my skin. The most enjoyable part of my day is to actually seeinng and talking to new people traveling through Indiana. Alot of times seeing/ talking to the guests you see on a daily basis is a joy because you end up having a nice relationship with these guests. – less
