Senior Process (Manufacturing) Engineer will be responsible for the facility wide engineering needs demonstrating skills in plant trouble shooting, process design, project management, implementation, continues improvement and new machining/assembly technology development. The position requires proven abilities and skills in leadership, internal and external supplier relations, planning, problem solving, root cause analysis and is accountable for budget creation and management.
This position requires understanding of advanced design in the aerospace field, tooling, customer specifications, (drawings, models, revisions, etc.), implementation of all related processes. Projects must be completed on time, within budget, in a safe manner and always following advanced manufacturing practices, QA/QC, and apply sound aerospace engineering principles throughout the project. The position will be involved in the creation and measurement of engineering business plan goals and objectives for process improvement, CI, set-up reduction and increase in FPY.
Essential Job Functions:
Interpret drawing package (blue print, parts list, etc.) for requirements.
Operate MRP II job processing system.
Create a manufacturing plan based on customer and company requirements to include detailed assembly operations.
Knowledge of outside service processes and their effects on our manufacturing plan.
Knowledge/familiarity with complex Aerospace assemblies.
Knowledge/familiarity with Aerospace sheet metal details.
Ability to interact with Subcontractors and outside processors as a focal.
Ability to apply principles of continuous improvement, including: JIT, KanBan, Lean Mfg, Cellular Mfg.
Familiarity with inspection planning and methods.
Interpret specifications; Customer, Military, Federal, Material etc.
Help to develop skills of those within department and manufacturing.
Follow written QAS (AS9100) procedures.
Maintain a clean and organized working environment.
Other tasks/duties/responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements (Skills):
Project Management – able to organize, problem solve and lead a project.
Design of Manufacturing and Assembly fixtures, jigs and gages
Ability to operate CAD software (Catia, NX,)
Root Cause Analysis, Cause and Corrective Action
Reading /Understanding and Interpret of aerospace engineering (drawings, part list, customers/industry specifications, Quality requirement etc..)
Communication - Both written and verbal skills to effectively communicate instructions to manufacturing and coordination with supporting departments, suppliers and customers.
10 years experience with machining in same or related shop environment (Required).
Manufacturing Engineer (5+ year / BS Degree) (Desirable).
Experience managing complex Aerospace assembly projects.
Experience dealing directly with Aerospace customers, suppliers
